Mikey,

I wanted to reach out and thank you for your prompt response and your kind support. I was very surprised to have received a personal reply from you and to have a conversation with you on the phone less than 24 hours after sending my initial email. 

I am grateful that you took the time to discuss my incredibly difficult situation resulting from the newly released religious accommodation guidance. As an atheist, it is common to feel alone and isolated in the military, especially in this modern climate that is dominated by Christian Nationalism. Your honesty about the situation was refreshing, and your advice was appreciated.

I did not know of the MRFF until recently. I have read through some of the posts on the homepage of your website and some of the emails you have received, and it is encouraging to see that others across the DOD feel like I do. It is heartening knowing that there is an organization willing to support us and help fight for us. Regardless of what happens to me personally, I am glad to know there is someone looking out for all of us who refuse to support Christian Nationalism. I’m proud to be part of the resistance, and I know that you are too. Separation of church and state is worth fighting for. Your advocacy is truly appreciated.
