I just don’t get it? Do you not realize that by fighting against the far right extreme, your making yourselves their polar opposite?!? This is not what God wants. If you remove him from the state, he will remove us from any type of prosperity in the future! You claim to be Jewish, but in no way show yourselves to be Godly. Do you not think that a lot of Americans understand that if we allow the far right extreme to govern, then we are no better than the Muslims??? The problem is you think the answer is to remove it completely, but all you will have at that point is a Russian or Chinese type government in charge at that point. God was at the center of all decisions made by the children of Israel and should never be removed from any free thinking people. Maybe you’re a Jew only by name alone and you’re not really a believer? I don’t know what you really think, but I know you in no way represent someone who believes. Don’t be wooed by the far left stroking your ego with awards and special designations, because all that says is your walking side by side with the ungodly! My uncle was the physical therapist for the Air Force football team for a lot of years, my dad is also a veteran of the Air Force, my Grandfather was stationed in Guam during World War II, and my Nephew is a member of HALO and a trainer in the Air Force, so its not like my family doesn’t have the military in their blood. The thing is, how many guys have you gone after that were Jews mentioning God in any public speeches?  I’m ashamed at what your all doing to destroy what was a part of this country since the beginning. There will always extreme fools, but that doesn’t mean to destroy everything that is good and moral just to replace it with the ungodly troves of Hollywood types who are just as likely to fall down and worship a cow if they thought it were cool! Wake up and get off the power trip you’re on!

Dear (name withheld),

Mr. Weinstein is of the opinion that mankind cannot be “Godly.”  If so there would be a race of Gods only.

MRFF is indeed the polar opposite of the far right having fought against archaic right wing  political and religious positions for a number of years and having assisted thousands of young military men an women to avoid the coercion of  the forced religious activity of those in positions of rank and power .

The commingling of religion and politics has been the bane of civil progress for centuries. Politics seeks to control religion and religion seeks to control politics.

Someone must stand for those entrapped by religious and political forces and that someone has been Mr. Weinstein and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

MRFF will continue to oppose militant religious activity and attempt to provide the solace and respect necessary for our young men and women to remain independent.

Dear (name withheld),

You’ve said it clearly here in your first sentence. You don’t get it.

After making that clear, you unfortunately go on to prove it by ranting on and on in areas you know nothing about, judging people you don’t know and postulating imbecilic hypotheses.

Our mission is clear. It’s available for you to read, if you can do that. Once you’ve done that, if you have any serious questions you’d like answered, please get back to me.

In the meantime, I’ve offered some thoughts below for your consideration, IN CAPS.

I just don’t get it? YOU SURE DON’T.

Do you not realize that by fighting against the far right extreme, your making yourselves their polar opposite?!? OURS IS NOT A POLITICAL ORGANIZATION, SO YOU ARE OFF-POINT. OUR ONLY CONCERN IS INAPPROPRIATE PROSELYTIZING IN THE MILITARY AND BREACHING THE WALL OF SEPARATION BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE.

This is not what God wants. WHO TOLD YOU WHAT GOD WANTS?

If you remove him from the state, he will remove us from any type of prosperity in the future! SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE DOES NOT REQUIRE THE REMOVAL OF GOD FROM THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE; IT ONLY ENSURES THAT THE GOVERNMENT HONORS THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE TO BELIEVE AS THEY CHOOSE.

You claim to be Jewish, but in no way show yourselves to be Godly. YOU’VE MADE TWO JUDGMENTS HERE. THEY ARE BASED ON WHAT?

Do you not think that a lot of Americans understand that if we allow the far right extreme to govern, then we are no better than the Muslims??? IF YOU’RE AN INDICATION OF WHAT “A LOT OF AMERICANS UNDERSTAND,” WE’RE IN BIGGER TROUBLE THAN I REALIZED. WHAT IS IT ABOUT YOUR BELIEF SYSTEM THAT MAKES YOU “BETTER THAN THE MUSLIMS?”

The problem is you think the answer is to remove it completely, but all you will have at that point is a Russian or Chinese type government in charge at that point. REMOVE WHAT COMPLETELY? REMOVE PROSELYTIZING FROM THE MILITARY? ABSOLUTELY. PROTECTING THE CONSTITUTION IS OUR WORK.

God was at the center of all decisions made by the children of Israel and should never be removed from any free thinking people. IF YOUR ASSERTION IS CORRECT, WHO IS IT THAT WANTS TO REMOVE ANYTHING “FROM ANY FREE THINKING PEOPLE.” ALL WE WANT TO DO IS PROTECT THE RIGHT OF PEOPLE IN THE MILITARY TO BELIEVE AS THEY CHOOSE.

Maybe you’re a Jew only by name alone and you’re not really a believer? IS THAT A QUESTION OR AN ASSERTION?

I don’t know what you really think (BINGO!!), but I know you in no way represent someone who believes. PLEASE READ THAT SENTENCE AGAIN. IF YOU DO YOU’LL GAIN AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONCEPT OF INTERNAL CONTRADICTION. HERE’S A CLUE: YOUR CONTRADICTING ASSERTION IS INCORRECT.

Don’t be wooed by the far left stroking your ego with awards and special designations, because all that says is your walking side by side with the ungodly! AH. THE “FAR LEFT”, WHATEVER YOU BELIEVE THAT TO BE, IS “THE UNGODLY”?

My uncle was the physical therapist for the Air Force football team for a lot of years, my dad is also a veteran of the Air Force, my Grandfather was stationed in Guam during World War II, and my Nephew is a member of HALO and a trainer in the Air Force, so its not like my family doesn’t have the military in their blood. THANK THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE. ASK THEM IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THEIR SUPERIORS TELLING THEM WHAT THEY MUST BELIEVE.

The thing is, how many guys have you gone after that were Jews mentioning God in any public speeches? WE DON’T ‘GO AFTER’ ANYONE. WE CALL FOR INAPPROPRIATE PROSELYTIZING FROM ANY SOURCE ABOUT ANY BELIEF OR NON-BELIEF TO BE BROUGHT TO A HALT.

I’m ashamed at what your all doing to destroy what was a part of this country since the beginning. BEING ASHAMED IS NOT A BAD IDEA IN YOUR CASE. BE ASHAMED OF ASSUMING THINGS YOU DON’T KNOW, OF CHARGING THINGS THAT ARE NOT TRUE, OF JUDGING PEOPLE OF WHOM YOU ARE COMPLETELY IGNORANT, OF LIBELING ONE OF THE WORLD’S MAJOR FAITHS, AND OF MAKING A DAMNED FOOL OF YOURSELF WITH THIS EMAIL.

There will always extreme fools (A FACT OF WHICH YOU PROVIDE AMPLE EVIDENCE), but that doesn’t mean to destroy everything that is good and moral (NO ONE HERE IS TRYING TO DESTROY ANYTHING) just to replace it with the ungodly troves of Hollywood types who are just as likely to fall down and worship a cow if they thought it were cool! (CAREFUL, YOUR BIAS IS SHOWING.) Wake up and get off the power trip you’re on! (TAKE YOUR OWN ADVICE. WE’RE DOING FINE.)

Mike Farrell

(MRFF Board of Advisors)

Dear (name withheld),
Mikey is very busy helping our soldiers and asked me to respond to you.
Mikey is the Founder and President of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF). He is Jewish and prays 3 times a day to the same Father we do. MRRF consists of the Board, the Advisory Board, volunteers and supporters. In fact, 75% of those involved with MRFF are Christians. A full 96% of our 41,600+ soldier clients are Christians – Catholics, Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodist, Lutherans, Baptists, Evangelicals, etc. We fight for the rights of Christians more than any other religion.
We also rely on our military supporters for their expertise in all matters concerning the military and religion. To name just a few that you may heard of:
Board Member – Major William E. Barker
Board Member – Ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV
Advisory Board Member – Lawrence Wilkerson – Secretary of State Colin Powell’s Chief of Staff (2002-05).
It is our military that is under attack and it is by an extreme form of Christianity better known as the Evangelical Fundamental Dominionists.
US Army chaplain MAJ James Linzey, who, in a 1999 video, described mainstream Protestant churches as “demonic, dastardly creatures from the pit of hell “that should be “stomped out.”

This is the thinking of the military of today throughout the chain of command all the way to the Pentagon. They believe that the only “true” Christian is one that is “born-again” and has a “spiritual birthday.” All mainline Christians (see above) are “from the pit of hell” and should be killed.
Nice, huh?
Imagine being in the military and told that it has the right to proselytize you anytime and anywhere to accept their form of Christianity (because you’re not the “right kind of Christian” or “not Christian enough)” – as the only true one; that you must bow your head and listen to ONLY a Christian prayer at mandatory events; that you are a Warrior for Christ; that you are government paid missionaries; that you must cleanse the whole world of other religions and atheists so Jesus can come back and rule for 1,000 years.
The mainline Christians are being harassed, beaten, deprived of advancements, were put on “point” in the war zones and have had their careers destroyed on trumped up charges – all in the name of Jesus.
Imagine this sect being able to rile up mainline Christians (duping them into thinking it’s about them, too) to put pressure on Congress to pass laws allowing them to proselytize our soldiers anytime, anywhere and any place.
This is what we fight for. Our mainline Christians, those of other religions and atheists should not have their careers held hostage by a “religious test” against the Constitution.
“. . . no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”   (Article VI, Section III)

I will tell you the real reason behind Major General Craig Olson’s problem.
The issue is that he showed up in uniform at a civilian religious event that represents only one sect of Christianity.
The National Day of Prayer Task Force is not the National Day of Prayer signed into law by President Truman in 1952.
The National Day of Prayer is celebrated by Americans of many religions as a day of prayer and meditation. The President of the United States issues an official National Day of Prayer proclamation each year according to law, as well.
The National Day of Prayer Task Force (formed in 1983) is strictly a Conservative Evangelical Fundamental Dominionist Christian organization called the “National Prayer Committee” that was formed to coordinate and implement a fixed annual day of prayer (by hijacking the original National Day of Prayer to give it cover and live streaming it on GOD TV all over the world) for the purpose of organizing ONLY Evangelical Christian prayer events with local, state, and federal government entities.
The National Day of Prayer is sanctioned by the government where the National Day of Prayer Task Force is not.
If he had showed up in civilian clothes there wouldn’t have been a problem.
Parker v. Levy:

“This Court has long recognized that the military is, by necessity, a specialized society separate from civilian society… While the members of the military are not excluded from the protection granted by the First Amendment, the different character of the military community and of the military mission requires a different application of those protections. … The fundamental necessity for obedience, and the consequent necessity for imposition of discipline, may render permissible within the military that which would be constitutionally impermissible outside it… Speech [to include religious speech] that is protected in the civil population may nonetheless undermine the effectiveness of response to command.  If it does, it is constitutionally unprotected.” (Emphasis added) Parker v. Levy, 417 U.S. 733, 1974

Our military is secular and accepts those of all beliefs and those with no beliefs.

The Air Force has strict rules on religious neutrality:

Air Force Instruction 1-1, Section 2.12:
2.12. Balance of Free Exercise of Religion and Establishment Clause. Leaders at all levels must balance constitutional protections for their own free exercise of
religion, including individual expressions of religious beliefs, and the constitutional prohibition against governmental establishment of religion. They must ensure their
words and actions cannot reasonably be construed to be officially endorsing or disapproving of, or extending preferential treatment for any faith, belief, or absence of belief. (emphasis added)

The violation of this – by speaking in uniform – is a felony under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Civilian laws and military rules and regulations are different.

Because Major General Craig S. Olson showed up in uniform to give his speech, he is also providing an unlawful endorsement and selective benefit to a non-Federal entity
(the NDPTF, which is a private organization), in violation of both the Joint Ethics Regulation
(DoD 5500.7-R) prohibition on endorsement of non-Federal entities and DoD Instruction
5410.19, which prohibits the providing of a selective benefit or preferential treatment to any
private organization.
For your reading enjoyment:

He showed up in uniform at a private event (one had to give his written testimony to be even considered to help out in any way), gave his testimony and then asked for prayers that the soldiers (all of them – not just the Christian ones) would rely on Christ.
He broke military laws – not our disbelief or hatred towards Christianity (which we don’t have) – and should have been held accountable.
We support and encourage the freedom for any soldier to express their belief as long as it is done in the proper time, place and manner as accepted by military law and the Supreme Court ruling.
Major General Olson failed on all accounts and the Air Force didn’t even enforce its own rules.
Our government isn’t a theocracy yet but it will be if the Military Industrial Religious complex gets its way.
Pastor Joan
MRFF Advisory Board Member

Dear Joan,
Wow, thank you for sending me this information. I did not understand because as happens to be the case most of the time these days, I only got the pieces of the story the media wanted me to hear. I will study on this more and hopefully understand it better. As I said in the subject line of my email, I am confused by this. I already responded to another board member of your organization that wasn’t quite as helpful as you. I will include our conversation below as an example of how NOT to handle someone who is ignorant to what the truth is. I know my reply is angry, but you need to read his reply to understand why. Thanks so much for being nice when I wasn’t, it really made a good impression.
(name withheld)

This email reply is one of the most unprofessional pieces of garbage I have ever read. For one, the whole reason I wrote this email is because your boss attacked a 2 star general for mentioning his faith in God at a gathering for the National Day of Prayer! It was a National Day of Prayer gathering you morons! What was he supposed to say up there??? Unforgivable crime and transgressions?!? What cloud are you idiots sitting on to believe so ignorantly??? Your boss clearly crossed a line and showed what his true intentions are in this sham organization. I love how you jumped to the defend of a religion that has plagued the Jews for centuries and are the number one human rights abusers of the world! Its real easy to sit behind a desk in this country and spout out condemnations of people you don’t personally agree with for daring to state what their beliefs are, but as soon as I said one little word about a group of people who murder, oppress, proselytize, and hate on a daily basis, you jump to their rescue! You arrogantly asked me what about my belief system makes me better than Muslims?  The fact that I don’t kill or want to kill another person for not converting to my religion makes me better. The fact that I don’t behead people in mass for their supposed beliefs makes me better. The fact that I don’t train children to kill others makes me better. The fact that I don’t march in the streets every Friday while chanting death to America makes me better. The fact that I do not use my personal beliefs to harm any other human being makes me better. I hope that answers your weak question. You claim you’re not a political organization, and although you place yourselves squarely in that arena, I never said you were a political organization. But since you brought it up, the statement that you are an organization against the mixture of church and state kind of indicates a political stance. All I said is that you made yourselves the polar opposite of the far right extreme. I said nothing about you being a political organization for you to spout of about. Your little comment about whether I could read or not truly shows how little you are and how unprofessional you are at your post. The fact that you are on the board of advisors and making statements like that toward someone who in no way stooped to that elementary school level type of remarks is very telling of your “Non Political” organization. You ask me how I know what God wants? By reading the Word of God, I am told what God wants. Maybe your ignorance of the Word of God directly translates to your ignorant belief that the constitution in any way meant for the separation of church and state to be taken to the extremes you all try and implement on everyone else. I think maybe it was the fact that the General mentioned Jesus is why your boss was so emboldened to exclaim this guy needed to be prosecuted! Sure, lets destroy this man’s life and living all because he mentions his religious beliefs at a prayer rally of all places! Someone is sounding more like Muslims than a Jew! Why not cut out his tongue while you’re at it for daring to speak such lies! You make assertions that removing God from the State will ensure the Government honors the right of the people. This in itself is laughable considering our Government stopped honoring the rights of the people a long time ago! All you are doing is ensuring the Government will be making decisions without any peaceful religious influence whatsoever, which will do nothing but make them more and more unaccountable for their actions that directly affect the people. I am sorry, but if I had to choose between a peaceful religious leaning government officials and atheistic ones, I’ll choose the religious ones. Oh yeah, you’re talking about the military, as if you had some type of authority to impose your views on an organization that has existed and operated by the hands of religious men who may have expressed their beliefs more than you would like, but in the end is the greatest organization on this planet, and you think your way is somehow better! I think maybe your boss’ activism is purely based on his personal beliefs and bleeds through every statement he makes because it seems to be pointed at Christians and no one else! Your organization is no different from any other lobby in Washington and the pressure you people put on those who are in charge causes needless pain to the innocent people who choose to display their faith! When our forefathers instilled the principle of the separation of church and state, it was purely to avert any back pedaling to what people had fled from in Europe. It wasn’t to prosecute a low ranking young girl for placing a bible verse on her desk! They would be ashamed at how low we have sunk to. I could go through this point by point, but considering your attitude it’s a complete waste of time. I never said I didn’t believe in the separation of church and state, I just believe you guys are over doing it to the extreme,  and definitely anti-Christian in your pursuit. Your no different from the political correctness police that exists in our media and have handcuffed any type of meaningful conversation for the fear of insulting the masses. You claim to help our soldiers, but in reality you sound like someone who is more interested in helping yourself. Exactly how is keeping someone from mentioning one tittle about religion at a military base or in the field helping our soldiers, much less at a separate event that was based on that faith??? Exactly how do you bring a general to justice for mentioning his faith? You do realize how stupid that sounds right?!? Throw him in the brig for mentioning the name Jesus!!! I wonder if you will ever pursue a Muslim for mentioning Mohamed with the same vitriol that you’ve shown here? I severely doubt it! The next time you reply to someone who has criticized your organization, maybe you should think of it as a teaching moment and show some professionalism instead of acting like an angry child. I am just a person who wrote an email, but you are a representative of a corporation who depends on sympathetic ears for support of your cause, so who is the damn fool here little boy. Replying like an angry child does nothing for you but make you look like a moron. You’ll forgive me if I don’t say good luck…

Dear (name withheld)
We get so many hate mails and death threats every day that even I sometimes lash out. One email gets swept up in a sea of anti-Semitic emails that we go on the defensive. Please be easy on Mike.
Mikey originally started out helping his sons at the Air Force Academy who were being verbally attacked for being Jewish. Word spread and Mikey was the person to go to when the chain of command failed. Mikey became so busy that he gave up a very lucrative career to found the MRFF on his own dime.
Mikey is the most honorable, loving, caring person I have ever met and we all have his back.
The media is deliberately withholding pertinent information and once we reply to emails with the facts, most realize that they have been duped and used to further their agenda.
If you ever hear of our organization in an ugly way again, please contact me and I will tell you the real story.
If you have any more questions shoot me back another email.
Thank you for your kind words and may God bless your socks off!!!
Pastor Joan

I will definitely do that. I did not realize that the evangelical Christian movement was so intertwined as I see it is now. I guess these types of things happen in military type of establishments because of the lack of freedom there. I can definitely see as to why the separation of church and state in that circumstance is very important, and probably more important than any other group considering the ability of those in charge to impose their will. I will definitely email you with questions, believe me! Thanks so much for to quick correspondence! Wow you work late! That or you’re on the west coast…Still it’s even late for over there.

If you have the time, Google NAR, Dominion Theology and Kingdom Now…for starters. They will be real eye openers.
I’m a night owl. :)
