Separation of Church and State

MRRF,

It is a shame that you feel it necessary to ignore what the Constitution actually says in it and instead put your own twist on the greatest document ever written. If you would take the time to read your history, you would know that the term ” separation of Church and State ” was first uttered by Thomas Jefferson in a letter to the Danbury Baptists in 1802. Lawyers and Judges, like yourselves, have used this phrase to somehow make the American people believe something that does not exist. No where in the Constitution does it say there is a separation of Church and State.
Thomas Jefferson said and I quote ” Gentlemen, – The affectionate sentiments of esteem and approbation which you are so good as to express towards me on behalf of the Danbury Baptist Association give me the highest satisfaction….Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God; that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship; that the legislative powers of goverment reach actions only and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should ” make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof ” thus building a wall of separation of Church and State. Please tell me why after 20 years of teaching a course on morality of war with scripture readings, you all of sudden have a problem with it ? Also please feel free to actually read the Constitution and while your at it why not try to read what our founding fathers have said on this issue as well as any judge that spoke on it before the Progressives rewrote and erased our great history.
