Jonathan Larsen

Larsen is a veteran journalist who began as a print reporter in Brooklyn, NY. His career includes the UPI wire service and stints at ABCNews, CNN, and MSNBC, where he was an executive producer and created Up with Chris Hayes. Although he’s a lifelong atheist, and his faculty advisor in college was the late Dan Dennett – one of the so-called Four Horsemen of Atheism – only in the past decade has Larsen focused his reporting on Christian nationalism and encroachments on the separation of church and state.

In advocacy journalism, he has held various roles at The Young Turks, Air America Radio, and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. 

Today he publishes TFN, one of Substack’s top 100 political newsletters, and posts his original reporting at JonathanLarsen.Substack.com. His work there has been cited by members of Congress, most recently in the House Democratic report on Freedom 250.
