“New Book Turns Hate-Mail Lemons To Lemonade”
Monday, August 19, 2019
“MRFF’s staff, volunteers and supporters provide an inspiring example for all us in how to survive Trump’s America. They’ve been doing it since 2005, in the frontline foxholes, as it were, showing grace—and good humor—under pressure. Which makes this a particularly inspiring book about religion in a very dark time. ”

BY ALBERTO SAAVEDRA
“Many don’t get the separation of church and state in the military”
Thursday, August 15, 2019
“Bonnie’s book will give you an insight into the mind of the evangelicals in the armed forces through hate mail the MRFF gets constantly. The MRFF is in the front lines of this cultural war. The book is also a lesson on constitutional law and it gives you an idea of what can be done to stop these haters’ insanity.”

“Hilariously, Shockingly Sad Reading…”
Thursday, August 15, 2019
“Bonnie does another awesome, articulate job here of describing not only the harassment she and her family and friends have endured over the years, but also the incredible depth of some people’s hatred and insecurity, ‘qualities’ only rivaled by their unparalleled ignorance and myopia.”

Retired USAF Brigadier General and former Permanent Professor & Head of the Dept. of Astronautics and Engineering Division Chair at the USAF Academy

“a hard read that calls to be read”
Tuesday, August 13, 2019
“The book is a hard read for all of the hatred, bad theology, and rancor. MRFF is a sharp needle sticking those who would use the color of authority to evangelize, trample the Constitution, and advance a myopic theocratic approach to the Great Commissioning in Matthew. “

BY ED BRAYTON
Letters from Angry Christians to MRFF
Monday, August 12, 2019
“As my longtime readers know, my friend Mikey Weinstein of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation often forwards me emails they get from angry Christians who misunderstand the goal of the organization and consider them their enemy.
His wife Bonnie has just published her second book full of some of those emails, many of which are viciously anti-Semitic. The book is called When Christians Break Bad: Letters from the Insane, Inane, and Profane and its official release is Tuesday. I strongly suggest buying it.”

MRFF Gets Email
By: Ed Brayton
Friday, August 16, 2019
(Excerpts from Patheos/Emphasis Added by MRFF)
Bonnie Weinstein, wife of Military Religious Freedom Foundation Mikey Weinstein, has just published a book full of the hate mail that group receives on a daily basis, much of it viciously anti-Semitic. And right on cue, in response to that very book, comes yet another email that go into the third edition of the series later.

Date: August 15, 2019 at 4:13:09 PM MDT
To: Information WeinsteinHello Mr. Weinstein.
You are a very sick man for hating military members who love Jesus Christ.
And now your whore wife decides to further spread the hate against those of us who walk with the Savior in our military. Her little book of so called hate is really just to make more $$ for your little MFFR jew enterprise.
[…]
It’s all there. The stereotypes about Jewish people’s nose and hair. The blood libel that the Jews killed Christ.
[…]
The praying for someone else to burn in hell. So much for that whole love in Christ thing, eh?

Bonnie
I read your book about haters and spellers. I am familiar with the hate mail, and the syntax used, as I have followed MRFF for many years now. The only anology I can think of, for the editors that must drudge through this less than enlightening “tsunami” of correspondence, is that of the editors who solicit letters of explicit sexual content for their magazines. Mining the minds of the tactless, is thankless.
I will meet this December with a grandson who is a student at the USAFA. He is, evidently, quite the believer and has, no doubt, heard of my embrace of MRFF. Your list , in your book, of accomplishments to wrest the dialogue from the religious marketeers, will be quite helpful should there be conversation about separation of church and state.
Keep up the good work and I will support, in any way I can, the good work of MRFF.
Michael Bode
