Every time I read a letter from one of our soldiers who is hiding his true beliefs behind displaying books on his superiors’ approved list and not responding to the offensive comments in his unit, it just makes me cringe. The horrific images of the Holocaust surface and after the anger subsides, I realize that even if their work place is not hostile to that degree, these young men are not free to explore what their spiritual beliefs are. They are in a holding pattern to protect their careers and not growing spiritually. And they endure this oppression so that you and I can freely express our beliefs.
God bless you for what you do. MRFF is a life line to these soldiers, airmen, sailors and marines.
