Dear MRFF,

As a former Marine infantryman, current Army 11B, college student and avowed atheist, for some time I have thought the MRFF as an organization worthy of my support. However, your recent attack on Scout Snipers to fulfill a clearly self-serving agenda has reversed that opinion, and I will avidly try to dissuade people from supporting you. It is quite obvious that you have little understanding of STA platoons and their culture, and that is now manifesting itself in your utterly absurd decision to attack something Scout Snipers have done for years. Most of my friends who are Marine snipers have the lightning bolt tattoo, whether they be white, black, hispanic, or asian. It is part of a small units culture, not some political or religious statement, and it has been around for a long time. The level of politically correct absurdity in your stance is mindblowing, you clearly are just looking for a topic to cry about instead of actually looking out for service members well being. Utterly despicable, and I will take every chance I get to speak negatively about your organization.

Hi (name withheld),

Rick Baker here, long time supporter of MRFF and former volunteer.

Everyone at MRFF seems to be up to their thyroid glands in recent traffic but we want to make sure your concerns are addressed.

I’m a former Air Force Officer and Rescue Pilot serving two combat tours in Vietnam. I say this only to qualify myself to extend an opinion.

As a former Marine and now a US Army 11 Bravo (which I think is still Infantry) I can see where this episode may have raised your hackles a bit.

Part of my duties were to insert special forces teams into Cambodia and Laos. Among these were
Green Beret, Navy Seals and Marine Recon sniper teams. So I have the highest respect for these young men who seek only to secure an identity in their endeavors.

Unfortunately, they and their supervisors made a serious error in employing the Nazi SS Logo in their unit identification. It is a direct affront to all Jewish Marines and other Armed Forces Jews who view this symbol as representative of the Holocaust and all those who fought and died fighting Nazism.

MRFF is correct in their demand that such a hated symbol be abolished from use by American military.

Please join us in ensuring no American citizen is painted with the brush of religious or political hatred. It’s tough enough to be a good Soldier, Airman, Sailor, Marine, Coastguardsman, Reservist or National Guardsman without having to deal with issues such as this. It does not belong.

Sincerely,

Rick Baker

This is the original Nazi Symbol. Not one bit different than the logo selected by the Marines.
