Hi (name withheld).
The most charitable thing I can say is you have no idea what you’re talking about. If you’d like
to learn about what the MRFF actually is and does I’ll be happy to clear things up for you.

Nobody here is anti-God. And, it might occur to you if you were the God defender you apparently think you are, God isn’t happy with people who claim to believe in him while (mis)judging people they don’t know, attacking them stupidly and making a fool of oneself.

Mike Farrell
(MRFF Board of Advisors)

Dear (name withheld),

Last time I saw a silly tantrum like this…the 3-year old throwing it was placed in a corner for a timeout.

There is nothing anti-God about MRFF you simpleton.  MRFF is a secular organization…now take a deep breath and look up the meaning of secular.  As it pertains to the ‘Phoenix Poster’, this means the U.S. Military has never been, is not now, and will never be on some make believe “Mission for God”.  They will proudly remain on an honorable mission defending the U.S. Constitution and their fellow countrymen (religious and non-religious alike!)

I am a Christian (Episcopalian in fact) who fully supports Mikey’s and MRFF’s attempt to protect members of the U.S. Military from unconstitutional religious influence in relation to their training, assignment, advancement, retention and benefits.  96% of MRFF’s clients are also Christians who, like me, have chosen to fight back against (rather than passively accept) the Dominionist tendencies of those Christians who proselytize or attempt to impose their version of the Christian faith via government sanction.

My belief in Christ and his teachings (i.e. faith) is not so feeble as to make me feel the need to prop up my Christian faith and heritage with government approved crutches.  To do so as a patriotic American would be weak willed and would come at the expense of my duty to protect and defend my Constitution and the secular democratic republic it established.

I believe this view on our secular tradition is soundly supported by your ‘email namesake’:
When a religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its professors are obliged to call for help of the civil power, ‘tis a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one.
– Benjamin Franklin, in a letter to Richard Price. October 9, 1790.

I defend both my Christian faith and my very secular Constitution proudly and equally.  Unlike Theocrats and Taliban wanna-bes; I don’t feel the need to defend one at the expense of the other.

Although I’m not a veteran, the MRFF’s staff, supporters, and clients are for the most part active, active reserve, retired, or former members of the US Armed Forces. Our numbers include ranks from private to flag officers, from all branches of the service, and specialties ranging from support to front-line combat arms.  Service eras represented in the MRFF’s ranks include WW II, Korea, Viet Nam, Gulf I and the present GWOT.  Many hold personal decorations, including the Purple Heart for wounds received in action, and for valor ranging from the Bronze Star w/ V and the Silver Star medals, the Army, Navy, and AF Crosses. One holds the Medal of Honor.

Thanks to these veterans you’re able to throw your petulant little tantrum.
