God bless the Air Force Academy for recognizing the religious freedoms that the cadets have and not bowing down to the rantings of Mr. Weinstein!

  2. G January 19, 2016 at 5:19 pm

The cadets have religious freedom as long as it does not violate the separation of state and church

  3. Yeshua Warrior January 19, 2016 at 9:59 pm

    Mr. G.

Public prayer does not violate the so called separation of church and state! The Academy has already ruled that they are allowed to pray according to their religious freedoms guaranteed to them by the first amendment.

Isn’t AFA designated a hate group? They do seem like a hateful bunch. But maybe it’s just because i grew up with a less warrior mentality Christianity?

  5. Yeshua Warrior January 20, 2016 at 3:18 pm

    Dear Mary,

The AFA is called a hate group by the Southern Law Poverty Center because it stands for traditional moral values and is against the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage. So I ask, what is wrong with supporting traditional moral values like marriage only being between a man and a woman? That was God’s original intent for marriage. This is evidenced just by looking at the genitalia of the man and woman, if I may be so blunt, the penis was meant to go into the vagina. The penis was never created to be put in the anus hole where fecal matter comes out of! Besides, God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply. Two women or two men can never be fruitful and multiply from their sexual union.

So Mary, let me ask you, assuming you are a Christian, what is so hateful about standing up for biblical moral values that is taught in the bible I presume you read often?

YW – you lie. The AFA is designated a hate group because they spread lies about the LGBTQA population. The AFA has the right to believe as they do. They don’t have the right to squash the civil rights of other humans, which they’ve been doing for a very long time.

  7. G January 20, 2016 at 5:52 pm

YW, they did violate the separation of state and church by praying in a public display as members of the US military at a military event (football game); therefore, they as government representatives were endorsing a religion/belief system thus violating the First Amendment.

  8. Yeshua Warrior January 20, 2016 at 10:02 pm

Ms. Connie, how can I be lying when I copied and pasted what I posted from the Southern Poverty Law Center website!

Also, homosexuals already have civil rights and are not considered a minority group like Blacks, Asians, Native Americans, or Hispanics which the Civil Rights Act applies to because they are born that way. Gays are not born gay which has been scientifically proven there is NO gay gene. Besides, many Blacks are angry at homosexuals because they feel that the are trying to steal from their civil rights agenda and apply it to themselves and there is no comparison between the two. Gays are not forced to ride in the back of the bus, or drink from separate water fountains or use separate bathrooms from non gays. Let me also comment to the whole bathroom law thing as well. Biological females should not have to accommodate in their restroom any man who happens to feel like he is a woman that day or any transgender woman who believes they were born in the wrong body. I guarantee you this, should any man or transgender woman enter a bathroom where my daughter happens to be in will be in for a rude awakening, for either I will drag him out by the scruff of his neck and apply a swift kick to his genitals to remind him what sex he is or be backed out of the bathroom looking down the barrel of a 9 mm pistol if I happen to be carrying that day. My responsibility as a father is to always protect my daughter from would be sexual assailants and predators!

This is about the American Family Association, not the Air Force Academy – both who use AFA.

YW – I’m charging you extra for having to correct your work. List the page you are quoting from or I’m citing you for sloppy research.

From the 11/4/2010 article by Evelyn Schlatter
    (https://www.splcenter.org/fighting-hate/intelligence-report/2010/18-anti-gay-groups-and-their-propaganda)

A small coterie of groups now comprise the hard core of the anti-gay movement

Even as some well-known anti-gay groups like Focus on the Family moderate their views, a hard core of smaller groups, most of them religiously motivated, have continued to pump out demonizing propaganda aimed at homosexuals and other sexual minorities. These groups’ influence reaches far beyond what their size would suggest, because the “facts” they disseminate about homosexuality are often amplified by certain politicians, other groups and even news organizations. Of the 18 groups profiled below, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) will be listing 13 next year as hate groups, reflecting further research into their views; those are each marked with an asterisk. Generally, the SPLC’s listings of these groups is based on their propagation of known falsehoods — claims about LGBT people that have been thoroughly discredited by scientific authorities — and repeated, groundless name-calling. Viewing homosexuality as unbiblical does not qualify organizations for listing as hate groups.

(I skipped the other groups as YW only mentions the AFA. The link has the full list)

    *American Family Association

Methodist minister Donald E. Wildmon formed the National Federation for Decency in 1977, changing its name to the American Family Association (AFA) in 1988. Today, the group, which was taken over by Tim Wildmon after his father’s 2010 retirement, claims a remarkable 2 million online supporters and 180,000 subscribers to its AFA Journal. It also broadcasts over nearly 200 radio stations.

The AFA seeks to support “traditional moral values,” but in recent years it has seemed to specialize in “combating the homosexual agenda.” In 2009, it hired Bryan Fischer, the former executive director of the Idaho Values Alliance, as its director of analysis for government and policy. Taking a page from the anti-gay fabulist Scott Lively (see Abiding Truth Ministries, above), Fischer claimed in a blog post last May 27 that “[h]omosexuality gave us Adolph Hitler, and homosexuals in the military gave us the Brown Shirts, the Nazi war machine and 6 million dead Jews.” (Ironically, the elder Wildmon was widely denounced as an anti-Semite after suggesting that Jews control the media, which the AFA says “shows a genuine hostility towards Christians.”) Fischer has described Hitler as “an active homosexual” who sought out gays “because he could not get straight soldiers to be savage and brutal and vicious enough.” He proposed criminalizing homosexual behavior in another 2010 blog post and has advocated forcing gays into “reparative” therapy. In a 2010 “action alert,” the AFA warned that if homosexuals are allowed to openly serve in the military, “your son or daughter may be forced to share military showers and barracks with active and open homosexuals.”

Gays aren’t the AFA’s only enemies. In late 2009, Fischer suggested that all Muslims should be banned from joining the U.S. military. “Islam is a totalitarian political ideology,” Fischer added in August 2010. “It is as racist as the KKK. … Allowing a mosque to be built in town is fundamentally no different that granting a building permit to a KKK cultural center built in honor of some King Kleagle.” A little later, according to the Huffington Post, Fischer said that whatever the government does to “to make it unthinkable for America’s youth to join a white supremacist group,” it should also do “to make it as unthinkable for a resident of America to embrace Islam.” Around the same time, the Huffington Post said, he blogged that Muslim values are “grossly incompatible with American values,” and therefore no place in America should allow a mosque to be built.

And then there are the promiscuous. On his May 26, 2010, radio show, Fischer recounted the biblical story of Phineas, who used a spear to kill a man and a woman who were having sex. Citing the nation’s “rampant sexual immorality,” Fischer said, “God is obviously looking for more Phineases in our day.”

Your information was taken from the SPCL website? I call horse poop YW, in fact, since you brought the subject of anal sex up – you obviously believe only homosexuals indulge in that particular kink. Yeah, that’s not the truth YW as millions of hetrosexual Americans will attest (or may not depending on how comfortable they are with being honest about sex).

And you double down with your misinformation with every right wing fear point about Trans folk… Of course you do, you bigoted Dominionist traitor. Here’s a thought for you – stop being hetrosexual. If you say sexuality is not a “born that way” trait then stop being a hetrosexual. I’m waiting but not holding my breath.

Nature has thousands of examples of homsexuality – examples you ignore, as does everyone on the SPLC hate list. Be fruitful and multiply? We are humans, not cancer cells although our numbers resemble cancer more every day. As for civil rights, in many states an employer can fire a gay person for who they love, a landlord can kick a gay person out for being gay, and the news is filled with articles where judges decide against a gay parent because they are gay. Exactly what are the rights you say gay folks already enjoy?

You know what? I do hope you carry through with your threat to treat a Trans person with disrespect. The folks I know go into a bathroom to pee or poop. It is people with minds like yours that thinks there are other things going on. Projection much?

Your job as a father is to protect her from predators? Who will protect her when the predator is the youth minister? Will you believe her when she tells you her tale of woe or will you blame her because she did something to attract the wrong attention? Based on all the people I’ve met, I’m going with the blame game. Better get prepared Dad. You are behind the times. The wolves aren’t outside your walls. You let them in under the guise of “But he believes as I do and has repented of his sins”. And yes, I have citations for that fact too. Don’t want to know this but I do.

Stop spreading your lies about the LGBTQ population. It is what brands you as a hater.

    Hi Mary –

You are not alone in your non military approach to Christianity. The United Church of Christ is a progressive group of folks. Dr Barry Lynn (a UCC minister) heads the Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. The UCC included gay and lesbian ministers as early as the eighties.

Of course YW doesn’t believe these folks are TWUE Christians – and has been disrespectful in other threads. I challenge his lack of facts because… reasons. I’ve let a bit of my story out in other threads – too long to repeat here.

Hi G – you’ve been really giving it to YW. Thank you for fighting this battle. My interwebs and health have been spotty so getting online to combat the never ending stream of Right Wing fear tactics has been difficult. I can read from my phone but posting… yeah, that’s not an everyday thing. Hope your new year is all you need it to be. :)

“Besides, many Blacks are angry at homosexuals because they feel that the are trying to steal from their civil rights agenda and apply it to themselves and there is no comparison between the two.”

Blacks are not the only group in this country who have been deprived of their civil rights. As a matter of fact, I have seen too many blacks trying to deny other people of their rights.

“….. guarantee you this, should any man or transgender woman enter a bathroom where my daughter happens to be in will be in for a rude awakening, for either I will drag him out by the scruff of his neck and apply a swift kick to his genitals to remind him what sex he is or be backed out of the bathroom looking down the barrel of a 9 mm pistol if I happen to be carrying that day.”

YW, be prepare to go to prison for assault and battery plus threatening to use a firearm. Don’t expect God to help you out when you really need is a good lawyer and sympathetic jury.

Thank you, Connie, for your help in fighting people like YW and giving it to them. You have done your homework as well when debunking YW’s arguments. Hope that your health will improve this year.
