This story is nuts. Sounds like rabbi Col Brandt needs to quickly retire for his ignoble role in this travesty of religion and rabbi Capt Harari needs his DD-214 walking papers to permanently depart the Army, let him practice his nefarious nonsense in Brooklyn.

Col. Brandt is commnder of all chaplains on the base, the Seattle Times story says that Harari is “the only rabbi on base,” so Brandt is not a rabbi. Voluntary, or even forced retirement would let him avoid any discipline for his inaction on this outrage.

Reading further in the Seattle Times story, I saw that “Brandt received a letter of reprimand.” WAY too lenient discipline!
