Leave the Christian Monument in Colorado dedicated to our fallen heroes alone. Repeat leave it be. No changes. Move on! May God have mercy on your soul!

Response from MRFF Board Member John Compere

Your pious & presumptuous protest is morally misplaced. It should be sent to the adults who lacked the intelligence & integrity to advise a well-intended young Eagle Scout his project could not be placed on government owned & maintained property as government endorsed because that is unlawful and violates the US Constitution, American law & Department of Defense regulatory directives.

Those adults need the mercy on their souls for using an innocent minor in an attempt to circumvent our laws & proselytize their version of religion on government owned & maintained property as government endorsed which has been unconstitutional since 1st Amendment ratification in 1791.

Response from MRFF Advisory Board Member Mike Farrell
Hi (name withheld),

You seem exercised. Calm down.

When you’re capable of it, think for a minute about our laws, our Constitution, our long-cherished practice of separating the Church from the State.

You see, honoring that practice is what keeps us free to have and practice whatever belief system we choose. It’s that freedom the MRFF is dedicated to protecting.

No one here is interested in doing harm to the memory of our fallen heroes. Quite the contrary, we honor them. And one of the ways we do that is by honoring the fact that they are welcome to have had any religion or no religion, any faith or none at all. And we do so by ensuring that no one can impose her or his belief system on anyone else, whether living or dead.

A government-owned and operated cemetery, just like a government building or hospital, must be careful to not violate that sacrosanct principle.

Having a thoughtful adult explain that to a young Eagle Scout would have been a valuable lesson for him. It’s too bad the adults around him didn’t have the understanding to do so.
