I want you to know I am so impressed with your work. My Dad served in WWII, was awarded the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service in Burma. He bore scars from the jungle the rest of his short life. (Gosh, I’m not sure where I’m going with this!)

Although he was an agnostic until late in life, he made sure we received our religious education as Catholics and I went on to earn a degree in theology and served in ministry for many years.

My point is this. This co-opting of Jesus as justification for this war is an absolute abomination and it horrifies me. “Holy war” indeed!

I just want to thank you for standing up for our Constitution and the separation of church and state.

This 79 year-old lady will be praying for you and your team!

I am also the daughter of a WWII veteran, recipient of the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. I am also in my 70s, raised as a Catholic now Muslim and feel like I’m your sister from another mother after reading your post.
I became an Associate Member of the Veterans for Peace and stand with them at the many weekly standouts in my area, at least thrice weekly.
But up until today — in listening to Democracy Now’s interview with Mikey Weinstein — I was ignorant of the great work of this organization and straightaway became a supporter. I was horrified to hear that military personnel who want to complain about their commanders ‘preaching’ of this ‘holy war’ and that the president of these United States — for which my father shed blood — was appointed by Jesus to wage this holy war.

I am glad my father has passed. He would surely feel as betrayed as am I.

Thank you Mikey for all you do!
