MRFF Intervention Quickly Corrects Sectarian Religious Broadcasting in Military Fitness Facility
August 12, 2026
MRFF President/Founder Mikey Weinstein was contacted in the early morning hours of August 11, 2026 by a MRFF client representing a dozen airmen at Robins AFB (south of Macon, GA) regarding sectarian religious programming being broadcast at the installation’s gymnasium facility. One client emailed photos to Mikey capturing the broadcast of Christian bible study programming on a television monitor designated for broadcast of Fox Sports.
After receiving an unsatisfactory response from 78th Air Base Wing Public Affairs, Mikey and the MRFF Representative at Robins AFB were able to contact a Chaplain at Robins AFB who was able to resolve the situation. The following email from one of MRFF’s clients details the quick resolution of this issue:

Subject: Another thanks to Mikey Weinstein and his Military Religious Freedom Foundation for rallying against continued unconstitutional Christian Dominionism in the military

To: Information Weinstein [email protected]Mikey,
Thank you so much for your incredibly swift action this morning when I notified you that the Robins AFB, GA gym was broadcasting a Christian television station on one of several televisions in the main workout area. All the other televisions were showing news, such as CNN or Fox, or sports channels, such as ESPN. In fact, the television playing the Christian show was actually labelled with a sign stating “Fox Sports 1”! Can you imagine if this television had been changed instead to a channel even as innocuous as Al Jezeera (the Middle East’s BBC)? People would be screaming that an Islamist take-over of the United States Air Force was nigh. This is yet another example of outrageous Christian Dominionism to which those of us in the military have sadly become accustomed, even as society and the military grow more secular by the day.
However, upon notifying you of the unconstitutional breach of the separation of church and state, you quickly went to work. Even though the entire 78 Air Base Wing command staff, to include the Commander, Col Hemphill, had decamped from their HQ building and failed to forward any of their phones, you were able to track down a wonderfully helpful chaplain who managed to reach out to her leadership and apparently convince them of their folly. Later in the day the television in question had been reset to its original mission—informing us how our preferred NFL team should fare this upcoming season.
Again, thanks for helping so quickly and thoroughly. It appears your reputation proceeds you as this situation was rectified promptly and, it seems, without dispute.
your friend,

MRFF clients were able to send confirmation that the television monitor in the gym had been returned to its original designated broadcast channel.
MRFF and its honorable and constitution defending clients have continued to expose the pervasive and unconstitutional sectarian religious pressure being created under the Trump/Hegseth drive to implement Christian Nationalist policies of Project 2025 throughout our National Security institutions. In the face of the dangerous damage to our military cohesion and national security interests this situation has created, MRFF and our clients continue to expose and push back against this blatantly unconstitutional sectarian religious influence.
