So, you object to a statue of Jesus on the wall, but you are OK with using sex to publicize your interview. In the least, you could have sent the news of your interview without the cover photo. But, you didn’t see the problem.
DO NOT REPLY: this is not a discussion, or a debate, or a forum. I am disgusted beyond speaking, and only hope that you are inundated with “unsubscribe” and angry responses from former supporters, which—after this—includes me.
I am grieving that you would compromise the integrity I thought you had in such a callous manner. Surely you have no idea. Whatever good you believe you have done in the past, just unravelled. So, so unnecessary.
Only Mikey would be proud to have an article in Hustler.
As a woman and a mother of two daughters, I fully support Mikey’s decision to do this interview. I understand why Hustler may not be a platform everyone agrees with, but advocacy was never about only speaking in spaces where people already agree with you and it’s comfortable. It’s about reaching the people who need to hear the message.
Sometimes meaningful advocacy requires taking the message into unconventional spaces, and I support Mikey and MRFF for being willing to do so.
Well, imagine my surprise today when the latest post is one from Hustler! OK – way to go to your audience Mikey. Huzzah. I totally support you in getting your most important message to the service critters who need it the most.
Carol – Carol, Carol, Carol. I’d give you a comforting hug but I suspect you’d respond like my cat does when his gruntled is totally dissed.
Look, I know you have your pearls in a clutch but this is war in which WeThePeople are fighting for our very existence. You know that correct? I get you are offended and I even understand why you are offended but you need to take a minute to breathe. Do not reply you state with your full chest. Well, I’m not Mikey, I’m Grey One and I find your lack of grace to be problematic.
See it sounds like you only support Mikey when he says things the way YOU want him to say them, or am I misunderstanding your dismay. Again, we are in an all out war against theocrats and fascists who are doing their dead level best to destroy our country (and if you’ve been keeping track via the Project 2025 handy read along script they just punched down via Chapter 13 – food insecurity) and your hard line in the sand is an article in a sexy magazine? I’m confident you’ve lost the plot, just saying.
I can’t tell you what to do. You’re an adult but if you fluff off in a snit you are admitting to all and sundry that you weren’t really in this to win this.

I am reminded of a lesson I learned when I was a young thing going through Confirmation at my families church.
We were talking about money and some politician took a campaign contribution from Playboy. Scandal!!! It certainly got us young teenagers into a frenzy but the pastor told us – it’s just money. The models in the magazines are all of consenting age, they all get paid. And how is money from sex any better or worse than money from a cigarette manufacturer or oil baron?
I learned a lot that year – about consent and intent. OK, learned more than perhaps either the pastor or my parents intended as that was the class which launched my search straight into paganism, but that is another story for another time.
I hope you stick around. I suspect your perspective will be a welcome addition to our regulars.

It’s not “Jesus”, it’s “where” it’s displayed and if you don’t know that by now… How are you a follower all this time and missed this lesson?
For the record, even though you put a line down it is ok if you change your stance. I don’t expect you to ever accept anything sex related but I do hope you will apologize to Mikey. He’s on the front lines every minute of every day and in my opinion you just pooped all over his efforts to protect not only the Constitution but the service critters who took an oath to do the same.

As always, I’m in awe of Mikey and MRFF’s dedication to protecting service members and their freedom of religion. There are no limits to how far Mikey and his team will go to reach the largest audience in order to have this vital message heard.

As I understand the mindset of those who take the oath of office, there is no expiration date to their oath.
My late husband, the old Marine, taught me this lesson by his example. He showed me how the Constitution and Bill of Rights are our sacred documents. Are they perfect? Of course not but the ideals they embody urge all of us to do better, to be better not just for those we know but the stranger on the street who has to have the same rights as ourselves or it all means nothing.
I never took that oath – I’m a hippy and as our trolls have already claimed, de-lulu. Well, I didn’t take that oath officially but after watching my true love try to re-enlist after 9/11 even with stage four cancer… That level of dedication inspired me to make my own oath to defend the Constitution from those who believe all humans are created equal but some are more equal than others.
That’s my story though. I’m sure other commentators have their own reasons for battling our local trolls.
The article in Hustler will inform people about the theocrats in the military who wouldn’t otherwise hear about them and the problems they’re causing. That’s what the trolls are really upset about.
My question about this issue is: who contacted whom? I suspect that someone from Hustler contacted MRFF about the controversy over the “. . . tie you to a tree” remark. If that’s the case, I think it only right that Mikey responded to the request for an interview. The fact that the forum for the interview was Hustler magazine was, I admit, a bit surprising — I didn’t even know that Hustler was still a thing! Nonetheless, I think it wholly appropriate to conduct the interview — even if one doesn’t necessarily agree with the particular medium.
If the interview was initiated by MRFF, things might be different. But I think it would still be worth the effort, as long as it reaches and motivates people to action — particularly those inclined to support MRFF’s mission!

I am gobsmacked on the regular when I encounter someone who has no clue as to how far the Christian Nationalists have infiltrated the military. And it happens a lot. I do my best to inform folks, send them on sidequests to get the details, but Howdy Doody the ignorance is real!
It’s almost as if many humans choose to not see what is front of them because if they acknowledge that uncomfortable fact there is a metric ton of other uncomfortable facts they have to deal with too and since the whole ball of wax is just too hard to handle they continue with their tried and true method of Nope, can’t see it and no one can make me!
JP – I know, right. I know Playboy is struggling due to all the content online but had no clue Hustler was still a going concern.
For me it doesn’t matter what came first – Mikey contacting Hustler or Hustler contacting Mikey. We are at war and at moments like this I am reminded that if something is stupid but it works then it ain’t stupid.
Fair disclosure, I am very sex worker positive. I myself have done sex work when I couldn’t get another job and the husband wasn’t on disability yet when he had to quit his job due to chemo kicking his butt. I did love the work (telephone sex operator) and I was very good at it but also fair disclosure it did change me. I’m not the same coming out of the experience as I was going in.
Not totally a bad thing but it’s a thing and if mental health classes have taught me anything it’s that if an action or event causes ripples in one’s psyche it behooves that person to study it to find out what hazards lie beneath. Today I’m all squared away ship shape so there is that.
Back on topic – we are at war. Maybe not the physical war folks think of when the word comes up but make no mistake, what WeThePeople are experiencing here/now is war waged on us by theocrats who looked at our Democratic Republic and said – Nope, it’s gotta go.
We’ve passed the No plan portion of the programming and are now onto the If it sounds stupid but it works portion. I for one celebrate the MRFF and their team for thinking outside the box, especially since our opponents want to shove first me and then everyone else who comes after into their preformed fits no one box.
But that’s my perspective. I know the stigma surrounding the sex worker demographic. Maybe it’s time to peak behind to curtain? LOL I always wanted to look, even as a kid. I’m a born nudist so being naked isn’t all that weird to me. I laugh because my family is NOT as free and even though I love them dearly they don’t understand.

This is a beautiful poem I found on line and I just wanted to share it and I hope Mikey reads it and gets irritated.

If you only want the one and not the others then that my friends is the very example our forefathers wanted to prevent. They argued for hours in temperatures too hot to contemplate in a time where there was no air conditioning and their clothing was not as wicking as it is today.

One should also ask about our school shooters and mass killers being predominantly Christian.
Redleg, set the poem aside — I’m not here about the poem. I’m here because you offered two pieces of evidence and neither one says what you think it says.
Start with the statistic. “Our school shooters and mass killers are predominantly Christian.” About 62% of American adults identify as Christian — that’s Pew’s Religious Landscape Study. So any randomly drawn group of Americans is predominantly Christian. Our mass shooters are also predominantly English-speaking and predominantly people who own a car. What you’ve described is the population you sampled from, not a characteristic of the killers. The only version of that claim that would carry information is overrepresentation relative to 62%, and you didn’t offer one — you offered a demographic fact about the country and presented it as a finding about murderers.
Now your two countries, both of which argue against you.
Israel. You wrote “not a lot of the Lamb of G-d there,” which is true and beside the point, since the claim you’re rebutting was about God, not about Christ. Israel is one of the more religiously saturated states in the developed world — a state rabbinate, religious parties inside the governing coalition, a state-funded religious school system, religious observance embedded in public life. It has more of what you’re arguing against, not less. It also mandates armed security at its schools, which makes it a strange choice if the implied argument is that fewer weapons near children is what accounts for the difference.
China. This is the one I’d genuinely reconsider. China has a documented and ongoing epidemic of mass attacks on schoolchildren — stabbings and vehicle rammings, with a widely reported surge through late 2024, including one attack at a vocational college that killed eight and wounded seventeen, days after a car attack killed dozens. What China lacks is not people who want to slaughter schoolchildren. It’s firearms — which changes the method and the casualty count, not the impulse. And China is officially atheist, with active state suppression of religion. So by your own framework, the country on your list with the least God has a serious and well-documented problem with mass killings of students. That’s your example. I didn’t pick it.
And there’s the question of how much confidence to place in crime figures from a state with no free press and a documented record of suppressing coverage of these specific incidents. If you’re going to run a natural experiment, don’t run it on a country that controls the data.
Two countries and a statistic, and all three of them point the other way. Whatever the right answer here is, this isn’t the argument that finds it.
Windy – embedded in your statistics is that Christianity is no more effective at affecting behavior or preventing mass killing than anything else, including state atheism.
And FYI Judaism and Christianity are NOT the same. Old Liar made an argument about Christianity being a force for good and you just refuted it.
