Subject: Thanks for the Guidance and Support
Good evening, sir,
Thank you so much for the talk and information you gave me. I wasn’t expecting a response till after the weekend but you got back to me in a matter of minutes and were very accommodating between both of our busy schedules.
You gave me information that I recently haven’t had the energy to find on my own, and did so within the first minute of our talk. Then you spent the next 15 or so minutes providing more information and support, in spite of my calling 2 hours prior to our agreed upon time. Sorry again for that, I’ve been dealing with too many time zones and too much stress to keep everything straight.
It was invigorating to hear how adamantly you and your organization believe in the 1st amendment and to hear your unabashed opinions of how abhorrent this administration has been. Believe me, I know that the number of service members and civilians alike that detest what’s become of our government is not at all a small number but, it does feel like our leadership has either been hamstrung or completely rolled over to the whims of bigots that don’t actually care about our country. To have a group outside of my command, that is more than willing to lend its support is very reassuring. Again, to point me to Article 138 of the UCMJ is powerful guidance. Even my direct command didn’t do that and they were nearly as furious as me when they had to tell me that my Religious Accommodation was rescinded. I had support going almost all the way up, far past where I ever see myself being considered important but, lo and behold a Lt Gen thought I was important enough to be labeled as “insincere”.
A little ranty at the end there but I think its understandable with how people like me feel during all this.
Ultimately, Thank you so much for your support.
Sincerely,
