This is such a very controversial issue and I believe that it is even more controversial than we realize. But because It is The Military the elements of the problem are never able or allowed to surface.
The problem that was started by people in disagreement with The Bible being on display is that even a Quran or a book of Satan or Book of Mormon are all violations of the constitution as the Bible is also a violation.
The Bible, however, has always been established by the United States Government as the Book that all presidents have chosen to use as the established religion. Mose all Presidents Of The United States have been sworn in by placing their hand on The Bible.
Theodore Roosevelt did not use a Bible when taking the oath in 1901. Both John Quincy Adams and Franklin Pierce swore on a book of the law, with the intention that they were swearing on the constitution. Lyndon B. Johnson was sworn in on a Roman Catholic missal on Air Force One.
What If someone wants to make up a new religion about worshiping a God called Zeebelle and following the moral codes of a God named Zeebelle – Why could not that person be sworn into office and place this book on display in the halls of Government. ?
