Dear (name withheld),
If he had been a Muslim general speaking in uniform at a public forum and using his rank to endorse Islam, we would do the exact same thing. The reason you don’t hear about us taking on many cases against Muslims in our country is because it is extremely rare for Muslim Americans in positions of authority in our military to abuse their authority to further religious principles. If you know of any specific incidents where such a thing has occurred we would be very interested in hearing about it. I mean that sincerely, as I am opposed to any such abuse of power.
