Dear Colonel Sean C. Killeen, USMC,

Sir, on behalf of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation’s (MRFF’s) now 65 U.S. Marine clients at MCB Hawaii who are under your command, sir, MRFF makes the following demands:

(1) On behalf of MRFF’s Jewish clients under your command, our clients demand the immediate right to build and display the religious message board appearing in the pictures below which starts with the words “Yahweh Bless”;

(2) On behalf of MRFF’s Muslim clients under your command, our clients demand the immediate right to build and display the religious message board appearing in the pictures below which starts with the words “Allah Bless”;

(3) On behalf of MRFF’s Norse Religious Faith clients under your command, our clients demand the immediate right to build and display the religious message board appearing in the pictures below which starts with the words “Odin Blesses”;

(4) On behalf of MRFF’s Atheist, Agnostic, Humanist and Secularist clients under your command our clients demand the immediate right to build and display the nonreligious message board appearing in the pictures below which starts with the words “There Is No God” and ends with the words “We Have Each Other”;

(5) On behalf of MRFF’s Hindu clients under your command, our clients demand the immediate right to build and display the religious message board appearing in the pictures below which starts with the words “Vishnu Blesses”;

(6)  On behalf of MRFF’s Wiccan clients under your command, our clients demand the immediate right to build and display the religious message board appearing in the pictures below which starts with the words “Goddess Bless”;

 **Colonel, please reply to this demand of MRFF’s Jewish, Muslim, Norse Religious Faith, Atheist/Agnostic/Humanist/Secularist, Hindu and Wiccan U.S. Marine clients who are under your command at MCB Hawaii at your earliest opportunity, sir.

 * *Colonel, should you decide to follow the United States Constitution, and your sworn oath to support and defend it, and immediately move the ONLY current religious message board on display, which begins with the words “God Bless” in the pictures below, and resituate it on the grounds of the chapel on your military installation at MCB Hawaii (or if you decide to simply no longer display that same religious message board at all), then the official demands to immediately display the 6 additional message boards made in this message to you by MRFF on behalf of MRFF’s 65 USMC clients (under your command) as described above, will be likewise immediately withdrawn.

Thank you for your prompt attention to MRFF’s demands, on behalf of its 65 USMC clients under your command at MCB Hawaii, and your allegiance to the No Establishment Clause of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution as well as the “No Religious Test” mandate of Clause 3, Article VI of that same United States Constitution.

Respectfully submitted,

 Michael L. “Mikey” Weinstein, Esq.

    Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!!!!
    That’s it, hit ’em where it hurts, Mikey.
    Now let’s see how they deal with the most reasonable demand.

    Way to go, Champ!

  2. Yeshua Warrior

    Now MIkey is showing what a spoiled little ass (KJV version) he is! Where does Mikey get off demanding anything, he is in no position to demand anything of anyone in the military today! This is just his MO, threaten, intimidate, scare, manipulate in hopes that the person or organization on the other end will capitulate by saying “ooh I am scared of you Mikey, I will do anything you want.” Mikey is the secular version of ISIS and the Taliban and many radical Muslims today.

    If I were this Col at this Marine base I would reply to Mikey saying, if you want it removed bad enough, you come remove it, however, once you step foot on my base, I will put a Marine boot up your ass and throw you off my base!!

    By the way Mikey, there is no Odin, Allah or Vishnew, and Christians would have no problem with Yahweh, since God and Yahweh are the same in scripture.

    Blessings!

  3. John Schuster

    Well done! Asking for simple fairness throws ’em off balance.

  4. Michael Rathbun

    Uh… Mikey isn’t demanding anything. It’s the persons stationed there who are doing so, through MRFF, and for obvious reasons remaining unidentified.

    If my own personal beliefs are that “None of the above-mentioned deities exists in any way, shape or form outside the minds of their believers” then I might pick one of those signs.

    Otherwise, it would be wise to relocate/remove the original.

    Yeshua Warrior, Yahweh and Allah are the same character. You say there is no “Odin,… or Vishnew(sic)”, but I’m quite sure you believe in Yahweh or some variant. How do you decide that certain mythical deities exist and others don’t?

  6. Marian L Shatto

    This seems only fair, but I do wonder about “Goddess Bless” for Wiccans. There are a number of different Wiccan traditions, some of which are goddess focused but others of which have both male and female deities in their pantheon. Most of my Wiccan friends would be much more likely to say “Blessed Be,” which is more inclusive. This is just a suggestion, not a criticism. I very much appreciate the point that Mikey is making and hope that the simple solution – i.e., move the existing sign to the chapel grounds – is promptly forthcoming.

    Yeshua Warrior, the irony in your little rant is laughable, I’m sure you didn’t think about looking in the mirror when you wrote it. How do you, with absolute certainty, know that Odin, Allah or (fill in the blank) don’t exist? But worse, you miss the point entirely, that even if they don’t exist, that’s the straw man that falls right over on its ass when we are talking about keeping government (including the USMC) out of religion – any religion. And being the Christian that you apparently are, how dare you and others just go blithely assuming that everyone must follow your religion? Last I looked, our federal Constitution is still in force.

    Joke pictures ought to be biggerrrrrr

  9. Denis

    Yeshua Warrior,

    Funnily enough the followers of the other 3,999 gods say exactly the same about your god – that theirs is real and that your Christian god doesnt exist. Funny that.

  10. Kate Doolan

    The Colonel must have been asleep when in class learning about separation of church and state.

    Keep up the good work, Mikey and MRFF!!!

  11. He’s lucky I’m not under his command, or he’d have to add the Nigerian god Olodumare, which isn’t so much a god as it is a state of existence. HEY, YOU CAN’T PROVE IT ISN’T REAL!

  12. G

    We can’t prove whether the Greek and Roman gods do or do not exist, but we do learn about them in film, TV, literature, and learning about them in school. In addition, the Romans and the Persians when they conquer other people, allow those people to continue to keep their religions and their gods. Were they wrong about allowing people to keep their beliefs even though they were totally different from the Romans and Persians’ religious beliefs.

  13. jimbo

    G they were smart, because when you start messing with peoples’ beliefs then lying hatred murder and war ensue

  14. jimbo

    all in the name of converting the other

    What’s the matter MRFF, did you delete my friend Juno’s email to you? HAving issues with securing the BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY it seems, eh? Guess what MILLIONS of soldiers took the military oath AND they swore it as SO HELP
    ME GOD! GOD GOD GOD GOD GOD. It’s the federal LEGAL military oath, just so you know. FREAKS

  16. Jamal

    I;m with Izzy and Juno who’s wonderful post you deleted. As much as your organiz is trying to demoralize those who took the legal oath of office and with faith and honor by pretending the “So help me GOD part” is igored, you must realize that you cannot just to around trying to pretend that both the military Oath and the preamble to our constitution is w/out GOD. It is what it is. So if you have issue with signage on bases that say “God bless the troops” fine. That’s a wicked attack but whatever. There will be many of us out here now both active duty and retired and this will demand that the bases post the preamble to the constitution making sure to remind folks that the constitution was ordained for the BLESSINGS of liberties and also ask them to post the full miliary oath ensuring the highlighted words of the LEGAL oath are hugely displayed : SO HELP ME GOD.
    Now I get that some are atheists, etc. and that’s all well and good. But I will also be working hard to push for comissioned officers of faith to never have to swear in any recruits that refuse to take the oath without saying the So Help me God part. I’m sure there are plenty of other atheist officers that can administer it.
    Your antics are rather dark but it’s to be expected in today’s day and age where those of rabid ugliness are doing all they can to create division, discord and disunity amongst our troops.
    So go ahead and push for the removal of signs saying God bless the troops, cause the military oath and the preamble to the constitution cannot and SHALL not be desecrated nor prevented from being displayed with the best of the best words gigantically displayed.
    Proud to say: Oath taken, So Help me God.

  17. Gitana

    My son is a soldier, a brave man who is disgusted with all the attempts to obliterate God from bases. He took the oath with honor and pride and he’s proud to say : SO HELP ME GOD! That oath has very deep meaning for many and I’m not sure what your agenda is here but it’s vicious and wrong. You are not about the Blessings of LIberty at all nor the spirit in which our constitution was written. But constitution was ORDAINED and that’s something you need to reflect on and ask yourselves where your hearts really are. What I see is an organization determined to cause discord.
