MRFF & MIKEY NOMINATED:
2015 Scrooge “Awards” Presented by the Liberty Institute

Sarcastic “nomination” a response to MRFF’s continual series of achievements in beating back Christian fundamentalist encroachments versus the U.S. Constitution and Armed Forces

From Liberty Institute:

“Last year’s Scrooge Award recipient is at it again. Just last month, Mikey Weinstein—an attorney who once called for the court-martial of 400 Christian officers for sharing their faith—complained to the Air Force Academy about members of their football team holding hands and praying in the end zone before football games. It isn’t the first time Weinstein has gone after the Air Force and the Air Force academy. Last year, Weinstein complained about a cadet writing a Bible verse on his personal dorm dry erase board. The Air Force Academy is currently investigating the matter thanks to Weinstein’s complaint about a fundamental American right—the free expression of religion.

Do you think 2014 Scrooge Award holder Mikey Weinstein deserves the 2015 Scrooge Award? If so, vote here!”

LAST YEAR MIKEY WAS GIVEN THE DUBIOUS “HONOR” OF “WINNING” THE 2014 SCROOGE AWARD, presented by the
far-right fundamentalist Christian advocacy organization, the
Liberty Institute

“With 33% of the vote, the 2014 Scrooge Award winner is Military Religious Freedom Foundations (sic) Mikey Weinstein. This is the Number 1 “Scrooge” that friends and supporters like you have voted for and called out for seeking to stamp out religious expression across America. Thank you for voting, and please come back later this year for a new list of nominees in the annual Scrooge Awards for Anti-Religious Discrimination!” -Liberty Institute, January 23, 2015

I voted for the Koch Brothers, the Republican Party, and the CEOs who are fighting against raising the minimum wage for being the Scrooge of the Year.

    G,

So are you of the persuasion that McDonald’s workers make $15 per hour?

YW, the minimum wage has not been significantly raised since the 1970s; however, prices of goods, services, and basic necessities of life have gone up considerably with no end in sight.

Australia has a minimum wage is almost $20 per hour; yet, their economy has not collapsed at all, there were no layoffs, jobs were not cut, and in fact, they have added jobs and the economy is doing fine because the people are spending the extra money into the economy. You have conservative economists in both Australia and the USA stating that the price of a hamburger would be $20 if the minimum wage was raised. Guess what, the price of a hamburger did not go up to $20

It is amazing how these conservative economists get their facts and theories wrong every single time plus you wonder how they come up with their outlandish theories.

You must be of the persuasion that no one at the low-end scale should be making an adequate wage to even meet the basic necessities of life.

Even Donald Trump admitted that American wages are too low since a few days ago, he stated that American wages are too high. He should talk about his own salary being too high. Heck, Trump has a lousy pension plan for his own workers: http://time.com/money/3948049/donald-trump-401k/

Here is another article about raising wages has not been a disaster for the US economy: http://www.alternet.org/comments/labor/turns-out-raising-restaurant-workers-wages-wont-cause-job-loss#disqus_thread
