MRFF Thwarts Commander Who Ordered Subordinate to Stop Reading “The Catcher in the Rye” Because it Offended Him as a Christian

“I am stationed overseas in an active duty combat billet and wanted to finally thank you all the MRFF for intervening on my behalf to help me when my (mid-level military command title withheld) ordered me to stop reading the classic book “The Catcher in the Rye”. I only read it on my personal meal time at the DFAC (“dining facility”) …
“He had told me that “as a believing Christian” it offended him to see me read it. He never ever said how it offended him. He outranked me by a lot so what could I do?”

That’s what you get when you promote these Christian zealots and put them in leadership positions!
That Commander, along with the rest of us, would be much better served if he carried around a copy of Sun Tsu’s “The Art of War!”
I would suggest you get a copy of “Catcher In The Rye” for your Commander. Sounds like he needs a good dose of reality check on his own insecurities and immaturity.
Some other good ones you might consider leaving on his desk:
“God is not Great,” by Christopher Hitchens
“Letter to a Christian Nation, by Sam Harris
“The Good Book,” by AC Grayling
“The Passover Plot,” by Hugh Schofield ( out of print)
“God, the Most Unpleasant Character In All Of Fiction,” by Dan Barker.
Good for you! Hope you continue reading in the DFAC – it’s your meal time, read what you want!
Religious zealots proselytizing from positions of authority, forcing their beliefs on others, are a great danger. Christians doing it are just a different version of Islamic Sharia Law. I applaud MRFF.
Cool, now thwart a Jew, and then a Muslim. The Christian targeting is getting stale. Oh wait, in the history of MRFF youve never once stuck up for a Christian. Youre Christian MRFF members are an embarrassment.
How much money you gonna take from your “non profit” this year Mickey?
Your* fixed it for myself, no need to do it.
Commentator above says the MRFF never sticks up for a Christian even though many of the MRFF clients are Christians (just not the sort the commentator recognizes, amirite?).
If Nationalist Christians (NatC’s) are tired of being ‘targeted’ perhaps they should, oh, I don’t know, perhaps follow the rules? Ha! I know that won’t happen because the NatC’s in my life believe they and only they have the right to freedom of religious expression.
Our Social Contract states your rights end where mine begin which means even though I really feel the urge to smite the sanctimonious smirk off your NatC face the rules state I’m not allowed. The fact I’m not arrested for assault tells you I know how to follow the rules.
Wish to the heaven the NatC’s believe in that I could break the rules as easily as they do but I have something they do not – honor and a commitment to the greater good. When I swore my oath to defend the Constitution I knew the seriousness of what I was doing. Too bad humans like the commentator above believes oaths are like tissue paper, easily torn and easily thrown away.
With a handle like “Ever The Dog’s Hit Org” (must be talking about some butt-sniffing group you belong to), “MRFF Christians are an embarrassment?” You’re either saying that tongue-in-cheek or tongue up Donald Trump’s ass (I’m guessing the latter – we can smell your posts GoodJob!).
Let me take you up on your equal opportunity challenge of “thwarting a Jew and a Muslim.”
Let’s start with that Jewish senior member of Trump’s staff, Ivanka Trump, and the 16 Chinese trademark deals she secured while a “senior” member of the White House staff. Or the $640 million in profit she pulled in with Jared during Daddy’s reign-of-grift! Not to mention the $2 Billion Jared secured from the Saudis for loyalty to MBS’s dismembering of a Washington Post columnist. Or the loan Jared received from the Government of Qatar. They first turned him down on his refi efforts to save his 666 Fifth Avenue purchase (there’s one for you Christians), followed by a Kushner/Trump supported blockade of Qatar right after Trump took office, which seemed to do the trick. Kushner got his money!
Ever hear of Mullah Abdul Ghana Baradar (ironically, baradar is “brother” in Farsi). Of course you haven’t! You know, the Taliban leader Trump wanted to bring to Camp David on the anniversary of 911, in itself disgusting, completely bypassing the legitimate Government of Afghanistan, to broker the pull-out of American troops from Afghanistan, directly with the leader of the Taliban, as one of his last official acts in office?
There you have it. Two “thwarts” against a Jew and a Muslim! Happy now? Do you feel better? You forgot Hindus and the 218 other US military recognized religions that the MRFF also supports with regards to the separation of religion and State.
Regarding your comment about MRFF money, ever hear of Barbara Underwood? I didn’t think so. The New York Attorney General that sued and shut down the Trump Foundation over “a shocking pattern of illegality,” just one of very many grift schemes launched by the Trump family of grift!
Of course you wouldn’t know that all public non profit tax statements are open to the public, so…… why don’t you look it up? Don’t be so lazy!
Grey One – great reference, Nazis, er, I mean, NatCs, double entendre.
MRFF sticks up for everybody. If a rogue Jewish commander was inserting their religion into subordinates’ lives, MRFF would be there. It just doesn’t seem to happen. I don’t often equate Jews with evangelism – prostelizing is not as big a part of Judaism, front and center, as it is in Christianity, where it’s a sacred obligation. I’ve worked and been friends with many Jews – none wore their religion on their sleeve like Christians, and all my trouble with religion in the military and in life has come from pushy Christians. The trouble the country is in right now can be laid at the feet of the Christians in the US.
“Oh wait, in the history of MRFF youve never once stuck up for a Christian” (June 7, 2023 at 1:45 pm above) WRONG!!!!! see

Another time MRFF “stuck up for a Christian”

Can any of MRFF’s detractors offer even ONE example of a non-Christian military person trying to push their religion on other military people?
More specifically, can any of MRFF’s detractors offer even ONE example of a non-bible-thumper-fundamentalist Christian military person trying to push their religion on other military people?
When I heard Mikey W speak in LA more than 10 years ago, someone asked him what was the religion of the people FROM whom MRFF got the most complaints..
I expected the answer would be Muslims: I was wrong. Don’t know if this is still true, but guess what the answer was then. (answer in next post, after giving readers some time to guess)

I expected the answer would be Muslims: I was wrong: it was Catholics then. MRFF says it’s now Protestants, with Catholics now in 2nd place.
