I’m not a military member but many of my family members were in the military and fought to protect and defend the people and the constitution from men like trump. Please tell me the military is not going to obey Trump to use the military against his perceived enemies. How did this atrocity happen, a psycho dictator with unchecked power out for revenge? Do you know who I can contact for help? someone has to defend this nation and it’s constitution from this domestic enemy!

Well, when you look at American labor history, the police and the military were used against striking workers and unions in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, so this will be nothing new about American troops gunning down their own people.
The law is the ‘Posse Commitatus Act.’ After the US civil war, the federal government used troops as an army of occupation in the rebellious states. The occupation lasted until 1877. Then the representatives of the former Confederate states pushed out a law prohibiting the US army to act domestically. Later amendments came to include all branches of the US military, excepting only the US National Guard acting under local state authority. Trump’s administration may not follow the law, but it does give some scope to resistance against the federal executive branch using troops to act against civilians.
The Posse Commitatus Act is not totally “a law prohibiting the US army to act domestically.” It allows active-duty military to “act domestically” IF their ASSISTANCE is REQUESTED by, and they take direction FROM local civilian law enforcement. That was done during the LA riots in both 1965 and 1992.
