“I went out to get the mail, and there was this giant piece of feces that had obviously been carefully attached to the front of our mailbox. I was repulsed,” Mikey Weinstein told CBS Affiliate KRQE.
“Whoever did this or whatever group of people did that, our response is it shows what weaklings and cowards you are. We’re not going to stop defending sailors, soldiers, marines, and airmen, guardians of the space force,” said Weinstein.

When the supply chain broke due to COVID yes, prices went up. But once the supply chain was restored those same prices didn’t go down. Hmm, wonder why?
I know the most maligned excuse is inflation but that’s down in this country thanks to the economic policies of the Biden admin. So how do I know high prices are the fault of the corporations? Well, their record breaking profits and record setting bonuses for the higher ups. Those don’t happen in an economy burdened with abundant inflation.

As for “The Higher Ups” (sounds like a 1960s pop group, doesn’t it?) keeping prices high, this is historically consistent with unregulated capitalism. Given the opportunity to make profit, they will do what the market — and governments — will bear. If you’re interested in understand options moving forward, you may want to check out University of Houston, Main Campus’ Foresight webpage (https://www.houstonforesight.org). Students, led by Dr. Andy Hines, have been doing a lot of research on what may come after capitalism — which will come to an end sometime in our futures, despite what some people may say. There’s no economic system that has prevailed throughout human history, and no good reason to believe that any one system will in future.
Unless, of course, we collectively get stupid and end our collective existence. Then we won’t need an economy.
The point is, there are alternatives to capitalism out there, and a fair number could benefit a lot of people more than our current economy does. And it should go without saying that there are also future economies that could be worse. It’s up to us to envision and choose those better options: not for ourselves, but for future generations. But we’re here because we all tend to subscribe to the idea that we serve the American people rather than ourselves.

If it can be “privatized” (for profit), it will be. Social Security, US postal service, Medicare, the military, energy, water, Medicaid gone, education, you name it. If a Government provided service can be profitized, it will be!
Our military, as another example, has already been “privatized,” in terms of who provides maintenance and repair for our weapon systems. Did you know there were more contractors deployed in our last twenty years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan than military members? Our military is extremely well fed when deployed. You know who provides that service? Indians and Bangladeshis, viz a viz, Halliburton and other contractors. You know who repaired our main battle tanks during the 2003 Iraq invasion? Indians! Find me a deployed aviation unit that doesn’t have contract repair and maintenance. You think we don’t have contractors on Navy ships? Just one Rolls Royce engine rep deployed for aviation support is well over a million dollars per man year.

China’s growth rate continuing to outperform the U.S. They have the lead, obviously, in manufacturing, and will continue to do so under Trump as he buries his head in the “drill-baby-drill” tar sands of his own economic policies. Remember when he praised Harley Davidson and Harley moved production overseas after his first term tariffs? Trump’s tariffs hurt the American people as he’s soon to find out – again. His bragging of how “we” took in billions from China during his first term ignores how much he gave, as just one example, to farmers when China turned to Argentina and Brazil for grain, and where he got those “billions” from – the American consumer! In other words – us – we the people!
One of his main distractions ( shiny object for his minions) is already underway with gaslighting about the brown people he’s going to kick out – you know, the lettuce pickers he’s going to kick out of the country!
The Christian Right empowered. Let’s put the Ten Commandments in all our school classrooms – that’ll fix it! Move public education money into for-profit charter and private schools, home schooling, Christian schools, your local property taxes going up to make up for the loss to public education, you know, for all those families that can’t afford private education for Johnny and Suzie (most families), teacher pay and working conditions forcing the “growers of children” into other professions.
Texas, as an example, incorporating Bible studies in the curriculum, incentivizing school boards financially to teach biblical studies as a bedrock for education.
