MRFF’s U.S. Military Generals (Ret.) Condemn Purge of the Most Senior Leaders in Our Armed Forces in Shocking “Friday Night Massacre”
“Many of you by now have heard about the shocking “Friday Night Massacre” perpetrated last evening by FOTUS (Felon of the United States) Trump and newly confirmed Defense Secretary Hegseth by their wretchedly abrupt firing of some of the most senior leaders of our nation’s armed forces.
Today, I am being besieged by both the media and MRFF client/members of our own armed forces asking for MRFF’s statement in assessing this unmitigated attack on our country’s national defense and security.
To that end, I have asked 2 longterm and stalwart allies of MRFF, both of whom are retired military Flag Officers/Generals, one of whom is on our MRFF Board and the other of whom is on our MRFF Advisory Board, to speak for me and The Foundation in this specific regard.” — MRFF Founder and President Mikey Weinstein

Brig. Gen. France, I already have a backlog of letters to write to my Congressional delegation, although I fully expect my Senators here in Alabama to blow me off faster than an F-15 going through 20mm rounds in a dogfight! This issue, however, has just gone to the top of my list! While I expect Senators Tuberville and Britt to tell me what good Christians they are and how committed they are to family values, I also expect Rep. Fugures to read my letter and make a thoughtful response.
In my case, I think letters from my area might possibly carry a bit more weight. After all, I live in Montgomery, Alabama, home of Maxwell AFB and Air University. Given the number of officers who attend courses here — many of whom come from allied nations — I expect these unjust firings will be topics of discussion for weeks and months to come. I suspect that officers from those allied nations will be watching closely to see how their American counterparts react to the national security threat our President poses. And I’m also certain they will pass on their impressions to their superiors when they return to their nations.
In the meantime, I see it as my duty to let members of the Alabama Congressional Delegation know where I stand on this issue. I owe it to my fellow Airmen — officer and enlisted, past, present and future — to let them know I’ve got their backs. And I owe civilian members of the force know that I stand with them, too. I only served for 20 years. But those people serving today are carrying on the tradition of service that moved me to enlist in 1975 — just as I was moved by those who went before me.
I will make time to write those letters. It is too important not to.

Hang on, Gen Brown, in retirement, will receive, at minimum, $18,491.70 per month with free healthcare for life, zero property taxes for life, along with any non-taxable disability compensation he can muster from the VA. His family also receives free healthcare for life, free medicine for life, and he’ll be able to hit the consultant circuit for speaking fees or enter the corporate world and make some real money on top of his military retirement. He gets a tax payer paid for final move to anywhere in the United States. A senior leader position in the corporate Defense Industrial Base world will net him millions.
This is not a slight on Gen Brown in any way. I’m unqualified to cast a vote in that arena, but, I am qualified to say he’s going to be OK.
So will the other GOs Trump is purging from the military.
Brown has been living a pretty privileged life as a fighter pilot, for starters, adding to that privilege as a one-star in 2011.
It’s not like these folks didn’t know it might be coming! These are incredibly smart strategic and political thinkers.
Is it despicable? Of course it is. Are we going to see more officer corps purges? Of course, no surprise there! Is the Orange Man negatively affecting readiness? Yes! The key message from the Orange Man is “show fealty – or else!”
Does it hollow out the military? Yes, of course it does, by way of corruption, whether financially or ideologically, career more important than “doing the right thing,” in terms of the officer corps.
If the appointment of Hogsbreath didn’t tell you that then ….. what can I say?
The real test, in terms of what the Orange Man is doing with his “purge” of imagined non-loyalists is (spelled out in Project 2025), will any other flag officers resign in protest? The answer to that is a resounding NO! Because, at its core, if integrity were the defining characteristic of GO level service, you’d see mass resignations. But, “for the good of the country,” you won’t. Awwww. Not that positions of power and prestige have anything to do with it.
The lack of resignations from other GOs is the very telling part. Putting country over career? Won’t happen! They’ll all fall in line like good little soldiers, kissing the ring, putting service to self first. And therein lies the real problem!
Tell a bricklayer how hard it’s going to be retiring on a GO level retirement, opportunity a factor, or lack thereof, in that equation.
Is it wrong? Of course. Do I sympathize with the GOs removed? No. They’ll be fine.
Drive on soldier!
While higher unemployment generally tends to bring down interest and inflation, Team Trump has “shit in their mess kit” on this one, firing federal workers and getting rid of significant portions of the labor pool – immigrants.
So, when interest rates are lowered to spur economic activity, where do employers go to get laborers? When you’ve kicked them out of the country, the price of labor goes up, adding to inflation, no labor pool to be had because you ran them off! You know, the folks picking your fruits and vegetables, processing meat in the slaughter houses, building homes and apartments, working on roads and bridges, working fast food and restaurant venues, etc.
Couple that with higher taxes – tariffs – making products more expensive for the average working family, and they’ve got a real problem on their hands.
Steel and aluminum tariffs increasing the price of everything made from those products, yeah, let’s see how that works out for you! Decimating their own automotive industry, 2.5 million cars being imported from Mexico. Mexico and Canada already cutting deals with China and the EU.
The military pissed off, getting rid of military leadership because they’re the wrong color or gender, or aren’t openly showing enough fealty to the Orange mandate.
Them rubber balls you hang off your bumper hitch? Gonna cost you more! I think you can get them in black, won’t cost you as much! Maybe paint them white or some shit.
But, from the other side, “when they’re eating themselves – let them!”
Keep your powder dry, forget the Right Wing talking points, “men in women’s sports, trans, DEI,” who gives a fuck. Non issues. Don’t take the bait. Let them rail on.
Government’s gonna shut down in March – let the Right shut it down! You’ve already got federal workers pissed off by Elonia’s note to the work force telling them they need to send in an email showing what they did last week, their preliminary firing strategy, which will result in even more pissed off federal employees.

What is it you think you’ve won, Todd? The right to pay billionaires more of your tax dollars for little return on your investment? The right to oppress people who don’t follow your brand of your religion — granted you by people who neither believe nor value your religion? From what I’ve seen so far, you’ve voted in favor of policies that will likely result in the United States becoming irrelevant on the world stage. That will impoverish you and future generations. It will likely result in very insecure futures for many generations of Americans. If you’re OK with that, you do you.

Been listening to the press conferences on this topic. The press secretary had the NERVE to say that the FOTUS replaced Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Brown Jr because he thinks he’s doing a bad job. I’d put an eye blinking WTF emoji here but don’t have the tech skills to perform that task so use your imagination.
No evidence of poor job performance, at least not as it pertains to supporting his oath to the Constitution. Guess he wasn’t ready to shoot Americans for the crime of exercising their First Amendment Rights. Added fact the FOTUS also removed the one female on the JCS board because how could a silly little girl know anything about fighting and stuff? The replacement is ready and willing according to statements made by the FOTUS. Supposedly Caine said “I love you Trump” (with or without tears in his eyes?) and “I would kill for you”. The fact that Caine looks like they came out of central casting means in the eyes of the FOTUS they are perfect for the job of overseeing the largest military force on the planet. And for shooting citizens as they exercise their First Amendment Rights. I know, I said this already but it’s important, hence the repetition.
I’ve watched this movie. Paid good money a couple of times, even splurged on popcorn and a drink. It never ends well for the figureheads as their arrogance and ignorance clash in a mighty explosion of finding out. I’d say the official historical record bears this out too but revisions, saving face, etc. You know the drill. Dear leader can’t be seen as the absolute fuck up that they were even if everyone in the incident died.

As an officer who served, the reduction of military leaders concerns me. Along with the daily 5th grade level announcements, the chaos created is intentional. I’m most embarrassed by the recent UN vote backing those leading countries for human rights, freedom, etc etc Russia, China and North Korea in saying Russia didn’t invade Ukraine etc etc. And the other 120 or so mostly ally countries voted differently. What ignorance (surely not stupidity, is it?).

I have a different take.
What can be and has been attributed to stupidity or ignorance is in fact neither as they exist alone. I would add zealotry to the mix, something which incorporates both stupidity and ignorance with several measures of cunning and an instinct for survival. It’s a lethal combination which I’ve only personally witnessed in books.
My late husband and I would play a game when he was going through chemo or we were stuck in another emergency room because cancer sucks. Anyway we would think of ideas to make or break our country. We’d take turns being the builder or the breaker. Passed lots of hours this way and I learned a lot.
So, if I wanted to ruin a country as mighty as the USA conventional methods of war aka on the battle field/soldier vs soldier won’t work. We are too big and our neighbors to the north and south of us are just as big and difficult to infiltrate.
Focusing on today our opponents intend to usher in what they truly believe to be the return of their lord and savior therefore they need to seize dominion over all the states. I said our opponents emphasis on the multiple but then focused on the one, the enemy domestic. The enemies foreign (looking at you Russia) told the American people long ago how WeThePeople would fall from issues inside. The person who told us this was a good of a friend to our country and WeThePeople ignored their good advice to our own peril. Those not so friendly to WeThePeople have been playing the long con ever since.
I can’t fault our enemies. They are who they are. And no one change the past. Oh, those in power will do their best to cover up mistakes and erase humans they deem vermin but events played out as they did and killing fellow humans in the name of eliminating vermin has NEVER worked. Too many teaching stories of that one person missed in the cleansing, that one person who saw the inhumanity and said no and then proceeded to take down the movement which ended their families and life as they knew it.
If history has taught me anything it’s that an idea, once it’s time has come is impossible to kill. We are in the time of ideas.
I’ve been listening to videos of Republican town halls held this month and their idea/hope that the USA will meekly surrender to Nationalist Christian rule isn’t playing out as it did in the models. Based on the panic on politicians face and the fear they can’t wipe from their eyes they understand in full the concept that WeThePeople aren’t afraid of over government but they rightly should be afraid of us.
I credit pockets of resistance like the community here at the MRFF. When all is darkness it is vital to be a light. I’m glad to be a part of the MRFF light.
