Old Soldier, permit me to politely disagree with some things you wrote. To start with, you wrote, “God bless America! Stand for the flag and kneel for the cross. I don’t have any problem with you asking God to bless America; however, when you ask people to “stand for the flag and kneel for the cross”, you cross a line. It is a bit much for you to ask — excuse me: TELL — me to “kneel before the cross” is clearly an invasion upon my right to worship according to the dictates of my conscience. I will gladly stand for the flag: I was a member of base honors teams at two different bases for a total of seven years of my career. I will NOT kneel before a cross!
The part I personally find most egregious is the bit about “Our forefathers said one nation under God.” That is historically incorrect. Believe it if you wish, but do not ask me to buy into a history that I, as someone trained in history, know to be incorrect. To keep repeating this falsehood after being presented with contrary evidence debunking this assertion makes this falsehood a LIE.
And I seem to recall your God being rather adamant about not lying.

Back in the day I remember battling with some random troll who was convinced of their moral superiority. I caught them in a lie and was just pounding the point when they told me it wasn’t a sin if they lied to me, a heathen.
