Imprecatory Prayer, a.k.a. ‘Trolling for Assassins,’ Aimed at MRFF’s Mikey Weinstein

“Trolling for assassins” is a term coined by Frank Schaeffer back in 2017, when bumper stickers and t-shirts with the message to pray for then-President Obama — with the prayer being Psalm 109 — became popular.
What is Psalm 109? It’s what’s known as an imprecatory prayer — a Bible verse curse calling for someone’s death.
The most popular of these imprecatory prayers, and one that has been aimed at MRFF Founder and President Mikey Weinstein a number of times over the years, is Psalm 109:
“May his days be few; and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.”
Why are imprecatory prayers so dangerous? Because when they are put out publicly an unhinged person seeing them might act on them under the delusion that they are doing God’s will. Hence the term “Trolling for assassins.”

Aside from the imperial ‘who will rid me of this troublesome priest’ vibe, saying an imprecatory prayer is no different than saying a spell – a form of words used as a magical charm or incantation..
I thought Christian Nationalists were not so keen on witches in their midst and yet they practice magic?
These are dangerous times for Christian Nationalist Voices of Authority to rile up their followers. People will die and it won’t always be those whom Christian Nationalists deem troublesome.
Magic 101 – be careful for what you wish for, you might get it.
Magic 102 – be mindful of the Law of Return; that which you send out will be returned to you sevenfold.
I’m more concerned about those making the imprecatory prayers than those the prayers intended to harm. Christian Nationalists, like Star Wars Storm Troopers, rarely hit what they aim at while their collateral damage totals are rather grim.
Be careful out there.
Bomb all negro and jew businesses.
Hey bomber,
They’re coming for you!
Hope you have lots of money for attorneys. You’re going to need it! :-}
