As someone who served in the Military, from what I’ve read from your website and have heard on the radio, I just want to let this piece-of-shit organization be made aware of the as an American if any, and I mean ANY, of this BS you spout ever goes to court, as a juror you won’t win. I can promise it.
You don’t think it can’t happen, trust me, it won’t be the first time!

Hi (name withheld),
First let me thank you for your service to America.
My name is Rick Baker and I am a long time supporter of and former volunteer to MRFF. I’m a former Air Force Officer and rescue pilot with two tours in Vietnam. I say that to let you know that I am a friend to all military, active, former and retired
I occasionally get copied on E-mails of interest to MRFF and I often try to address some of the issues which are presented in them.
MRFF’s only goal is religious freedom for all service members. Often, some of those who grow up in a Christian paradigm become totally immersed in their faith and find it difficult to identify with total religious freedom for everybody.
You see, religious freedom for other than Christians has occasionally been a sticking point in America as has religious freedom for other than Muslims in Islamic countries has.
So it is a bit sticky when someone starts sticking up for someone who is not Christian to preserve their rights.
Had you read information about MRFF objectively you would have been in total agreement with it’s premise. Christianity may be the majority religion but it is only one of many practiced in America. America is home to many religions, none of which may dominate irrespective of it’s majority.
It is difficult for you to try and grasp all the legal ramifications dealing with constitutional provision as it relates to the military. But let me assure you that MRFF conducts only the most exhausting study of each violation it is advised of and without exception, has addressed the problems of many thousands of our young service members and cadets who found themselves in the grip of command centered and coercive Christian proselytizing.
Your prejudices are apparent. I suggest you look deeper into MRFF’s record of assistance to those who were unable to help themselves.
Sincerely,
Rick Baker

Mr. Baker, I am an Iraqi Freedom Vet, and a very strong supporter of the Military. Reading your response to the commentor “POS”, all I can say is wow!! I understand that the writer could have stated their opinion a little more calmly. That being said I find it funny and disturbing how you preach tolerance of freedom of religion as long as it is not Christianity ( I will assume you probably lump the Jewish faith in there as well). Can you please tell me which part of the the 1st Ammendmant this scene on Travis AFB violates? First Amendment – Establishment Clause, Free Exercise Clause; freedom of speech, of the press, and of assembly; right to petition
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
I still haven’t found seperation of Church and State…. Because that would be the only legal issue with this. The AFB is not sponsoring these displays. That would be like me saying that because of your obvious predjudice against Christianity (based on your condescending response) that your whole organization is filled with anti-semites, and anti-christians……OOPs bad example because everything I have read about your crusading organisation is just that, anti-semetic and anti-christian. Please do everyone a favor and at least be honest about the fact that you and the MRFF clearly have an anti-religion agenda.
Last time I checked just because there is a religious display doesn’t mean you have to believe in that religion nor does it belittle whatever belief you may or my not have. You don’t have the right to force your beliefs on Christians, Jews, Muslims or any other religious group. What MRFF is doing is thinly veiling intolerance in a county where religious freedom, TRUE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM, is the right to believe or not believe in any or all religions. It is not your right to press your petty and childish views on anyone else.
ps
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah and God Bless
Respectfully

Ok Rick…. the only thing I can say is that MRFF did NOT do “an exhaustive study” on this one. I read the original letter posted on this website from Jones Day which referenced “the wise men from Nazareth being in the display.” Helloooo? Even the pictures provided by the intolerant airman showed nothing other than Mary, Joseph and Jesus… and “from Nazareth?” does anyone in MRFF know the Christmas story… could they have corrected Jones Day that the wise were not from Nazareth? The nativity and Menorah are surrounded by at least 20 other displays… This isn’t at the front gate… can’t even see it from there. I know you all are busy this time of year trying to stifle religious expression, but check it out thoroughly next time.
Mr. Pinkelman, I am a Desert Storm One Vet, and a very strong supporter of the Military. Reading your response to the responder “Rick Baker”, all I can say is wow!!
Christian Dominionism is running amuck and your comments are proof positive we need Mikey, Rick and Pastor Joan and the rest of MRFF more than ever.
Your petty, childish and condescending views of what MRFF does to support our troops is highly disturbing. We are not going to accept your version of what true religious freedom is because you do not speak for the American people, who by the way, are not all Christians!
