General Boykin is a decorated military veteran and should be welcomed to speak at a prayer breakfast at West Point . He has a message our soldiers need to hear. Your attack against him is unbecoming and uninformed. Islam is an oppressive political system, not a religion, not by any reasonable historical standard.
Are you afraid that Gen. Boykin might be right? Are you worried you won’t be able to judge between the things he says? Are falsehoods so powerful that men who are willing to sacrifice their lives their fortunes and their sacred honor are defenseless against them unless those ideas are first filtered by you? Or, are you self-appointed gatekeepers who are no less vulnerable to deception than any other man?
You took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, so why are you trying to suppress speech? Your knowledge of the Constitution is flawed. You are on a crusade, but armed with only some of the facts. Tsun Tsu taught, “Know your enemy” but you have refused his counsel and may find yourselves on a fools mission.
The truth can stand up to scrutiny. If you are not willing to examine all of the facts about Islam, you have no right to condemn those who have.
I have studied Islam and the history of our Constitution and Boykin is not the one you need to fear. Educate yourselves.
Respectfully,
(name withheld)
Dear (name withheld),
My name is Rick Baker and I am a long time supporter of MRFF and a former USAF Officer and rescue pilot with two combat tours in Vietnam. l tell you this because I want you to know I feel qualified to express an opinion of Gen. Boykin and of your misguided statements relating to Islam.
General Boykin is only one of many senior officers who identify themselves as puttinh God first, Family second and Country third. Religion, Christianity in specific, has taken the wrong turn in America and succumbed to a form of worship known as “Dominion Christianity.” This practice is attractive to some senior officers who are used to having things their way.
You mentioned our oath to uphold and protect the Constitution. My oath and that of Mikey Weinstein remain intact. It is yours that is in question. Gen. Boykin has violated his many times, some of which were trashed when he spoke to National Prayer Breakfasts while in full uniform and failed the Lemon Test (Lemon Vs. Kurzman 10971) in which the supreme court held that elements of government, including the armed forces may not elevate, prefer. recommend or proselytize one religion over another or religion over non-religion. The General also preached at Christian churches in full uniform which is strictly prohibited.
By discrediting all of Islam instead of just the elements that commit heinous acts, you brought insult and injury to American Muslims who have honorably served in both civilian and military services and in a rather bigoted fashion, condemned all to perdition.
It is not the desire to suppress Gen. Boykins speech that spurs MRFF into demanding his disinvitation. You have heard of the prohibition of yelling “Fire” in a crowded theater, “fighting words,” “inciting to riot” and other speech which is restricted. His acts of breaking constitutional provision by violating the “Lemon Test” on numerous occasions shows an utter disregard for the constitution and his seemingly false oath to uphold it.
You may have studied Islam but may I suggest that you also study the checkered history of Christianity through history before condemning just Islam? You might wish to bone up on some of the criminal activities of Christianity. The recent disclosure that numerous occasions of child molestation in the Christian Church and subsequent cover up by church hierarchy alone should make you cautious of condemning other faiths.
The “fool” is defined as one who is deficient in judgment, sense, or understanding and who acts unwisely on a given occasion. This seems to describe Jerry Boykin to a “T.” Your letter to MRFF follows that definition closeley as well..
Sincerely,
Rick Baker

Keep em coming ,we love these letters. Keeping copies of all the good ones .
Certainly leaning towards antichristian sentiments. Never condone child molestation,a Mom myself. Still no mention of the bad actions of Nidal Hasan, again I remind you ,innocent people died. Some Christian’s molested, some Muslims kill neither is good or acceptable yet no mention of Muslim sinners. Just amazing!
I would rather those that I have in the military dodge prayers, from any religion than bullets. Just sayin’.
