I hope I’m wrong but…

I’ve been asked to respond to you from a Christian perspective because I am an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God and on the Advisory Board of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF).
I will be answering your concerns within the context of your email below.
I to (took) a look at your website. I was looking for orginazations (organizations) and groups that fight for the constitutional (Constitutional) rights of service members and that is how I stumbled upon this site. After looking at your site I have come to the conclusion that you are probably liers (liars) and hypocrites. I hope i’m (I’m) worng (wrong) though, please correct me if I am.
You are wrong.
“MRFF believes that religious faith is a Constitutionally guaranteed freedom that must never be compromised, except in the most limited of military circumstances, because of its fundamental importance to the preservation of the American nation and the American way of life.” However you also say ” MRFF adheres strongly to the principle that religious faith is a deeply personal matter, and that no American has the right to question another American’s beliefs”
True.
(Even though such questioning would be protected under the first amendment (First Amendment) as free speech and free exersize (exercise) thereof)
Really? Questioning people is protected under the First Amendment? WRONG! It says you have freedom of SPEECH not freedom of QUESTIONING.
Freedom of SPEECH is not absolute. You cannot yell “fire” in a movie theater. There are LAWS regulating-
incitement (persuading, encouraging, instigating, pressuring)
threatening (intimidating, bullying, menacing, hostile, aggressive, frightening, nasty)
sedition (overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that is deemed by the legal authority to tend toward insurrection against the government)
defamation (false or unjustified injury of the good reputation of another)
slander (when you defame the character of a person to other people or persons verbally)
libel (when you defame the character of a person in writing)
the expression of racial hatred
conspiracy
So, according to the laws against the above, you DO NOT have the right to say what you want, when you want, to whom you want, especially when it infringes on the rights of other people.
You don’t see the hypocricy (hypocrisy)?
No.
What if my faith commands me to call out the hypocrites just as Jesus did?
Jesus called out the religious leaders of that time – the Sadducees, the Pharisees and His disciples as hypocrites. He did not call out individual people. And when He dined with “sinners” he never called them out for it.
How about this?
“No member of the military may be compelled to curtail – except in the most limited of military circumstances and when it directly impacts military discipline, morale and the successful completion of a specific military goal – the free exercise of their religious practices or beliefs(.)” and “No member of the military may be compelled to endure unwanted religious proselytization, evangelization or persuasion of any sort in a military setting and/or by a military superior or civilian employee of the military.” In otherwords if joined the USMC and I was to try and talk about God or the Bible or Jesus to another recruit or Marine uou (you) would have a problem with that, or if I saw that they professed to be a follower of Christ with their lips but their heart was far from him and I tried to rebuke him you would have a problem with that also (Lets say someone is a hypocrite or something, or they made up their own version of Jesus to suit themselves)
Religious hypocrites tend toward PERSONAL PREFERENCES and try to IMPOSE them on others as PROOF OF THEIR SPIRITUALITY but they themselves are not able to keep their own rules; genuine righteousness tends toward personal conformity to the Word of God. It’s PERSONAL! Not what you may think it is. And how do you know a person’s heart is far from Him? Only God can read the hearts of man. It seems that you are making up your own version of Jesus to suit you.
In my life as a minister I have seen many people like you who are self-righteous; going around telling other people how they should behave and what they are doing wrong, when they are filled with more short fallings than the person they are attacking. That’s why Jesus said –
Matthew 7:1-5
“Judge not, that ye be not judged.
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?”
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Jesus calls YOU the hypocrite!
A beam is a lot bigger than a mote, which means you have a bigger problem than those you are trying to correct. Until you can walk on water, it seems that this verse suggests you keep your mouth shut.
James 1:26
“If anyone among you thinks he is religious (which you seem to think you are), and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.”
USELESS!
That’s what the Word says. You typed your words into an email and because of your judgmental attitude your religion is USELESS!
It seems to me that you are not a religious freedom group.
We ARE a religious freedom group because we fight for the rights of ALL religions. What do you want? A CHRISTIAN religious freedom group? There are thousands of them and I suggest you go to one that fits your PERSONAL beliefs.
I think your (you’re) probably a (an) anti-christian (Christian) and an anti religious (anti-religious) freedom group.
Sorry to burst your bubble but we are not anti-Christian. Currently we have over 27,000 clients from all branches of the military – active and retired – and 96% of them are mainline Christians. There are many on the Advisory Board, volunteers and supporters of MRFF that are Christians. We have the support of the California Council of Churches/IMPACT, military Chaplains, and individual churches and Christians.
I wouldn’t force Christianity on anyone, ever.
Great!
At the same time though I must warn people of the dangers of Hell and point them towards Jesus who died to save them.
Wait! I thought you said you “wouldn’t force Christianity on anyone, ever.” What do you think warning other people is? You’re sticking your nose into other people’s lives! How do you not see this?
Christianity is not God looking down on the hindus (Hindus) , budists (Buddhists), muslims (Muslims), Christians, wiccans (Wiccans), gnostics (Gnostics), Ectetc. (You demean other religions by not properly capitalizing them)…and saying I like the Christians better, the hell with the rest of you quite litterally(literally).
No, He doesn’t. We are all created in His likeness and image.
No (now) if it where (were) not for God coming down here and incarnating into flesh and then becoming sin for us and dieing (dying) to take are (our)punishment for us we would all be going to hell. ALL OF US! We look at the many “grades” of sin…self rightously (self-righteously), to make areselves(ourselves) feel better and this seers (sears) are (our) conscience. Don’t you know that everyone is doing the same thing? Oh well at least i’m not as bad as that guy. That is what self rightousness is. The murderers, rapists, pedophiles….mostly everyone dose it. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God….ALL OF US. Everyone thinks they are a good person, even Adolf Hitler thought he was a good person (and a Christian). To God our rightousness (righteousness) is as filthy rags. No one can earn their way into heaven, thats why Jesus had to die.
Wait! I thought you weren’t going to “force Christianity on anyone, ever.” What do you think you’re doing then? Did MRFF ask you for this? No. Then you ARE forcing your religious viewpoint on us. You’re not the first one and you won’t be the last one to “witness” to MRFF. We Christians, who are involved in MRFF, are getting tired of seeing it. We’ve heard it all before so save your fingers from typing it.
If a Soldier, Sailer (Sailor), Marine, Gaurdsman (Guardsman), or Airman where (were) to confront a hypocrite who claimed to be a Christian with these exact words or lets say even an athiest…..well I doubt you would defend that service member’s constitutional (Constitutional) rights. You would probably want them disiplined (disciplined). But I bet you would have no problem with an Atheist doing the same thing.
No, we wouldn’t support any military personnel confronting ANY Christian whom they believe to be a hypocrite because the military is SECULAR and cannot endorse or enforce ANY religion. Plus, who are you to say who is a hypocrite? Jesus already gave the definition for a hypocrite and apparently is it those nosy, self-righteous judgers like you.
The last I heard what that Jesus is the one who passes judgment on people…not you. Do you have your very own Judgment Seat?
BTW I have a newsflash for you. God belives (believes) in religious freedom!
We know! That’s why we fight for the religious freedom of all of our soldiers. When are you going to realize this?
He took your punishment for you but he isn’t going to force you to accept his gift anymore then he would make you into a robot in order to take away the choice to sin or to reject him. He loves you to (too) much to make you into a robot. At the same time he can’t let us ruin Heaven like we ruined Earth. He is as just as He is loving and sinners must be punished. But (By) your debts paid in full by the precious blood of the lamb. You must accept this gift, you must repent and turn from your sin, or you will be responsible for paying your own dept (debt). The choice is yours because God loves you to (too) much to force himself on you. Because he gave you the gift of freewill! Which is why you have the ability to be an athiest or follow false gods.
Again, you’re forcing your religious views on those who didn’t ask for it when you said you wouldn’t…ever. You have condemned yourself with your very own words as a hypocrite.
You have called MRFF an anti-Christian group when we are the furthest thing from it. You have swept up the Christians who are part of MRFF as anti-Christian with your judgmental attitude. I, for one, don’t appreciate you calling me that when you have not done your research on us. Next time, before you open your mouth, dig a little deeper into a group. God is going to hold you accountable for what you called me.
And, please, do the world a favor and turn on “Spell Check” or at least use it when you’re done typing.
May God have mercy on you for your self-righteous, judgmental attitude.
Pastor Joan
