Missing info from website…

Dear MRFF,

I confess I haven’t done an exhaustive search on your website. I was looking for specific religious beliefs of Mr. Weinstein. I see lots of info about the military involvement of he and others in his family. Based on the info I have read I understand he believes that there is an excessive amount of Christian “activity” within the military.
I am not sure of the following:
What is his foundation for his cause (i.e. who did/does what to motivate him create his foundation)?
Is his goal to eradicate Christianity from the Military? (Please consider this question carefully – I know what the “About” page says, but it is not in context to a statement of Mr. Weinstein’s beliefs – our personal beliefs are the key motivators for everyone.

As you can probably tell, I am a Christian. I believe that part of my responsibly as a Christian is to share my faith with others that may not know what it means to be a Christian or how to become a Christian.
From what I have read it appears that Mr. Weinstein is a Jewish man that has chosen to be an atheist. I sincerely hope that I am wrong and that you can emphatically correct me.

It was disappointing to see the the mail that you receive that used vulgarities to try to make point. Jesus Christ would never approve of such language. Wishing death on someone is not something a Christian should ever do.

Instead of wishing harm and death to anyone in your organization, I hope for the opposite. A longer life for you all that you will one day experience the life-eternal change of accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior.

I try to remind myself of the fact that God loves so unconditionally that it would boggle your mind. He loves each of you so mush, no matter what you’ve done or what you think of Him, as he does anyone that has accepted His son, Jesus Christ, as savior.

Mikey is out of town and only has his cell phone. He asked me to respond to you.

Thank you for contacting Mikey and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) with your concerns. And, an extra “thank you” for your kind email. It is rare that we get one such as yours from a Christian.

Mikey is an observant Jew and the founder and face of MRFF. He is not an atheist but has been labeled that by the media and religious organizations in order to foment hatred towards him. 75% of those on the Board, Advisory Board and volunteers are Christians. I am on the Advisory Board and an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God. MRFF currently has about 29,000 soldiers, both active and retired, as clients. 96% of them are Christian. As you can see, we are not anti-Christian. If we were I wouldn’t be here.

MRFF does not act on its own but at the request of soldiers who bring to our attention the blatant disregard for the Constitution and Military Law.

Mikey is a veteran and an Honor Graduate of the class of 1977 from the Unites States Air Force Academy. He spent 10 years after graduation as an Air Force Jag officer, while also serving as General Counsel in the Reagan White House for 3 years.

While attending the Academy he was subject to extreme persecution because he was Jewish. He suffered several beatings and at one was thrown down the stairs…left for dead.

When his sons attended the Air Force Academy, they came under the same persecution based on their faith. He fought the command structure for his sons and in doing so; he found out that there were other soldiers that were also suffering based on their religion or lack thereof. He soon found himself overwhelmed with requests and left a very lucrative job to form the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

MRFF defends the Constitution and its mandate that there be no official state religion.

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or the free exercise thereof…” (1st Amendment)

“…no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.” (Article VI. Section III)

Our military is a government entity and must remain secular. Any person that wants to don the uniform of a branch of our military is free to do so with the express admonition from the Constitution to not exalt one religion over another.

We are not trying to rid our military of Christianity. What we are trying to stop is an extreme form of Christianity that believes they are the only true form of it and all other mainline Christians are not of the “right kind” and going to hell. They are attempting to turn our soldiers into “Warriors for Christ” and that every war is a Crusade. They teach that they are to cleanse the world of all the wrong kind of Christians, those of other religions and those not practicing any faith, in order for Jesus to come back and reign for 1,000 years. This thinking throws out the entire book of Revelations where Jesus comes back with His ‘heavenly army” to conquer the world. Jesus never asked for an army on earth. He said “Blessed are the peacekeepers” not “Blessed are the warmongers.”

This extreme form of Christianity is relentless in its in-your-face religious proselytizing to other soldiers by the military personnel all the way up to the Commander. They have usurped the office of the Chaplains. They have harassed, beaten, withheld advancements and drummed soldiers out of the military on trumped up charges, all in the name of Jesus. They believe in cleansing the military of all of those that do not believe in the sect they do.

This sect deliberately oversteps the Constitution in order to claim that Christianity is under attack and being persecuted against. This is false. Retired Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General Norton Schwartz, issued a document stating the role of religion. The previous memorandum and this document are both being ignored by Commanders, which is insubordination. Again, Robert, we are not out to destroy Christianity in the military but put it back in the hands of the Chaplains where it belongs and to keep it secular as the Constitution states.

We are the most ardent defenders of the Constitution.
