I wanted to say that I’ve read your disgusting treatment of Col. Kim. You are a bully and he did nothing wrong but gave people a book. Instead of having the courage to use any type of exegesis or study to refute the book, you hid behind your cowardice. Leave this man alone.

nope!!…you are completely wrong on the facts, the law and the negative impact Kim’s atrocious actions have on the good order, morale, discipline and unit cohesion of his unit and the rest of DoD…listen closely now, Peter, 22 CHRISTIAN military chaplains came to us and begged us to help them…we did….now, come to my face, sport, and call me a coward…..Mikey

For your information, the US Constitution, American law & US Armed Forces regulations prohibit our secular military, as part of our secular government, from proselytizing religion except in military chapels & military chaplain communication channels. Military chaplains may not use official military email accounts to force their version of religion on others. Military chaplains are advised & aware of this legal restriction. Are you aware, for example, that Col. Kim has authority over the “people” to whom he “gave… a book”? In the military, do you think it
carries any significance when a person in authority makes a point of presenting something to those beneath him? Are you aware that the very presentation carries with it an implied endorsement of the contents of said book? Are you also aware that those in an inferior position to Col. Kim are also chaplains?
 
Those are the circumstances of this matter. If a senior officer had chosen to send a copy of “Mein Kampf” with his implied blessing, would you be challenging the “bully” who spoke up on behalf of those under his authority who were offended by the message it promoted?
 
I don’t know the answer to the question because I don’t know how you feel about Hitler’s philosophy. I also don’t know, given the case at hand, if you believe homosexuality is in and of itself a reason for one to be condemned by God and stricken by the God-ordained coronavirus.
 
The chaplains who came to the MRFF for help in a situation wherein their offense at the position their superior officer put them in could not be articulated without endangering their status in a hierarchical organization appreciate the assist they got from Mikey and the MRFF. Your childish name-calling in defense of Col. Kim suggests a theological defensiveness that is telling.

    Collins and his colleagues apparently care about only the “religious freedom” of Lt. Col. Kim, and not the TWENTY-TWO OTHER CHRISTIAN CHAPLAINS who asked the MRFF to represent them.

    I’ve a question for Rep. Collins: Is Lt. Col. Kim more godly than the TWENTY-TWO OTHER CHRISTIAN CHAPLAINS? Is his grasp of theology superior to theirs by mere virtue of his superior military rank?

    Or is it just that Lt. Col. Kim has attained that rank for no reason other than that he joined the Army before the TWENTY-TWO OTHER CHRISTIAN CHAPLAINS did, and therefore had more time and opportunity to advance?

    This is a typical Republican ploy to re-frame issues for political gain, and not really about religious freedom at all, but ABUSE OF MILITARY AUTHORITY on the part of Lt. Col. Kim. Framed correctly, Collins and the others are utterly bereft of any valid argument; assuming for one moment that the theological credentials and educations of all twenty-three chaplains are roughly equivalent, then the simple math makes it TWENTY-TWO TO ONE AGAINST Kim.

    As with the issue of climate change, in which all Republicans can do is push false equivalencies, when 97.5% of reputable scientists say humans are heating up the planet, go with the percentages.

    So, “All he did was give people a book!” I don’t suppose this writer would have any problem if a military member started handing out copies of Chris Hitchens book, “God is not great!” Or Sam Harris’s book, “Letter to a Christian nation!” Or a copy of the Koran? They’re just books!

    There he goes again! Infidel went straight to the “Jesus closet” in his brain where he stores all his sexual innuendos. It amazes me that Christians (males) always revert to cock size and other sexual references when they think their religious beliefs are being threatened! Too funny and soooo predictable! Hey infidel, when you see a crucifix, what goes through your mind? “Damn, he’s big!” Too funny!
